Lag Reduction

I have an m11x with i7s 2gb video card and 8 gb ram. I sure hope people with lesser machines aren't experiencing even worse lag. oh yeah and really fast comcast.
I bought this machine for Starcraft II. I know it plays it perfectly smoothly. I am curious how much lag is the game at fault for and perhaps do I need to do something to my computer?
I always play starcraft with itunes playing. This game cannot handle Itunes at the same time?!!?
I would like to know if there are any obvious things people think I could try to make this game run smoothly?

That aside, there's a known issue which causes super low frame rates. It's being worked on.
Even people with higher end hardware than you are seeing the issue. Just gotta be patient and wait for a fix, I'm afraid.

2nd problem 2gb video card? that means nothing could be onboard using 2gb
so its prolly a low end card ,so that would be the 2nd problem and prolly the main one
if its a nvidia card you could try see if MSI afterburner works on laptops (prolly not) and overclock the video card a bit to help yah frame rates
i dont understand why ppl buy a laptop to play games.

can you explain: nothing could be onboard?
it is Nvidia
I actually figured out how to overclock my i7s and it made all the difference. The game actually works now :-) !!!!!
I would love to know how to overclock my video card I will dig on that now, if anyone has a link I appreciate the info
I bought laptop because I am boat captain and I travel a lot. I love whipping out my laptop at friends houses, airports, or even out on the water while cruising lake superior!

Would a lesser desktop work better, I do not intend to buy another expensive machine but I have considered a used desktop since I have seen decent specs on used ones on craigs list. I am that into this game, I bought this laptop for starcraft, I would buy another cheap desktop for this game!
Since this game bottlenecks at the processor would a new 8 core just kick ***? I mean I am not sure I would spend the money but then I am obsessive!

glad you got to overclock the cpu a bit
the gpu might be overclockable too
find and download a program called msi afterburner it lets you overclock video cards, all you need to do (if it works) is move the slider over a bit to the right for the core and memory (i wouldnt go any further than say 30mhz at first for both, if it works and helps you can keep bumping it up till you find a nice improvment)
as for desktop yes you can get them really cheap these days (dont get namebrand) and so long as its got a half ok quad core cpu and a mid range video card, you'll be set

I got a new laptop recently (not intended for gaming), and at low settings it can play MWO ok. It's a slight slide show - maybe in the 15-20 fps range, but still playable.
Stats:
AMD A6-4400, 2.7 GHz (dual core)
4G of installed ram
500G hard drive
Radeon 7520G integrated graphics
1366x768 native resolution on the display
So by no means anything stellar, and I'd rather play it on my desktop, but it works out well enough for some mobile gaming in a pinch. I dropped all of the settings to 'low', and it works.

people don't buy laptops to play games they buy em cause they're on the move and a desktop is impracticle for work. then they see a f2play tittle and think yeah for a break i'll enjoy this and don't expect it to be a high end graphic gobbler which this game can be at times. i know the pain coupled with 250-300 + aussie ping so i feel for the op.

yeah the m11x isn't a great choice, m17 -m18 are really the only slightly serious laptops in that range and you have to be rich... very stupidly rich. then again it would be worth it cause they're bad beasts but i think the origin pips alienwares in performance. or that eurocom panther o_0

Yeah.... But how can a game be free to play if it costs in excess of $300 of upgrades to your basic computer to play? I bought a $440 laptop that was no good for this game. The men and women in the Law took a collection and bought me a $500 system to play this free to play game. Don't know about you, but $800+ NOT FREE TO PLAY!!! This above all, is my most powerful complaint. I should be able to play this game with 30+ frames a second minimum on ANY computer two years old or newer.

I hear you, but "any computer 2 years old or newer" covers too broad a field. There are low-grade computers that are using old tech (Pentium/Celeron/Phenom/Athlon) that would be "new in store". I have a 3 year old Intel Core i5 750 computer that is paired up w/a NVIDIA GTX 470; pretty solid for most gaming, but not the best for this one ... I get bugs and fps droppage in this game as well (18-30 fps during intense brawling). Just ordered a new heatsink/fan combo to replace my crappy stock Intel CPU heatsink, as I heard that overclocking on the older Intel Core series (Duo/Quad/i7xxx/i5xxx) helps greatly.
I'd suggest building your own rig, or having someone that knows how to, help you with a gaming build. It will save you a ton of cash. If that isn't an option, try boutique stores:
http://www.maingear.com/ (Maingear Computers)
http://www.originpc.com/ (Origin PC)
http://www.velocitymicro.com/ (Velocity Micro)
http://www.pugetsystems.com/ (Puget Systems)
http://www.falcon-nw.com/ (Falcon Northwest)
All of these guys are quite good at what they do, and I purchased from Velocity Micro 5-6 years ago when I was way too busy at work and didn't have the time or energy to build a good gaming rig. When I had a problem with the computer after I tried overclocking the video cards (had 2 in SLI), Velocity Micro sent out a tech to help repair the system, free of charge (that was with the basic warranty package). It was worth every penny, and I still have that rig today as my backup computer at home.

In your description, you're not paying for a game, you're paying for a computer.
OP had to pay for that computer which can run SC2, remember. Then, he paid for the game on top of that.
