Okay so. Long story short, I have mastered my Cataphract, Centurion, and Catapult. Now, the tough question becomes what to work on next? Haven't really worked an assault, so thinking in that line. The mech I've loved the most has definitely been my Cataphract (ALL OF THE DAKKA!), though I've had some good times in my SRM Cent and Cata. As a general rule, I play either a long range harasser or an up close bruiser. So, with all of that information, what should I grab next?

having lots of fun with stalker 5S lately

you can try many builds

boating 4 LRM15s with some lasers and tag
4 SRM6s with 6 medium lasers
various builds with large lasers or PPCs

and all that with 2xAMS possible

It depends a little on your play-style. The atlases are powerful, but I dislike their slow turning speed. You definitly have to learn how to play them. But you can fit mean loadouts into that chassis. Even more mean than compared to the stalkers. Maybe you should try the trial-stalker or buy one atlas and one stalker to find out, what you like most :(

How about the awesomes? I see a lot of good players killing in those machines :P

If you want an overpowered mech grab a DDC.

stalker 5M makes a great large laser boat. 5 large lasers and 23/24 double heatsinks, depending on std 280 (max armor) or std. 300 (max armor only in sidetorsos).

it comes with double heatsinks so that saves a bit of money.

I'm almost done with the hunchie+cataphract mastery-ing, and am in a similar situation. For alliance, clan, corporation, or guild play, (i have no clue what the community calls groups of players flying 1 flag) i'm contemplating rolling a light mech. My play style is totally bruiser, but i'm wondering if the light would a valuable asset to a clan that has lots of heavies and assaults.

However, if i was rolling strictly pugger for the rest of my online experience, i'd buy a DDC, equip it with brawling awesomeness, and say "puggers, form up on me. We're going in."
