(Edit: I have all 4 elite skills already, I am only asking about the Top Tier master skill that unlocks a module)

Is the master skill (module slot) worth it for a 4SP?

My 4SP is fairly tweaked .. 250, ENDO, DHS, etc, etc ... costs a chunk.

To unlock master, I have to play a ton on the non-4SP ... which means dropping a chunk of change into two other chassis ... the engine I can swap, but the upgrades can't be swapped.

I am thinking of doing a CP-K2 or a AT-DDC next ... but it will be that much longer if I had to waste a bunch of CBills and time leveling on the non-SP hunchies.

Is that module, for a medium 4SP brawler, really worth it?

Currently, the available modules are not that great, particulary for a brawler. The SP already comes with two slots - you don't really need a third one.

source: me - 4sp master with 70k xp waiting for conversion to gxp when some usefull modules actually arrive.

I don't see a use for the extra module slot but the elite and 2x basic skills you can get from leveling two other chassis are quite valuable in my opinion.

True. The 2x basic skills are great, and the speed tweak elite skill really help.

I have unlocked elite, and completed all 4 elite skills, on the 4SP. I am not going to grind the other two chassis with semi stock stuff (no endo, SHS, etc, etc). So, if the "master" skill was good, I was going to considering dropping CBills to upgrade my other two chassis ... if not, then I planned on selling the 4J and 4P and then starting work on the next chasis trio.

At this point, the Master Module doesn't look that great for a brawler ... so I am inclined to skip it ... and so far, that is the consensus here as well ...

You could just go ahead and grind it out for all three chassis. That way, you will have the slot open if you ever needed it.

Master doesn't matter that much, but doubling your basic skills and getting the elite skills is very much worth it.
If your going to spend a lot of time in the 4SP, you might as well get the other two variants and get them exp'd up.
The chasis only cost ~3 mil, I'd get endo too, so for about 7 mil and some time, you make your 4SP that much better.
Personally, I don't just do one mech, I get three and level them all up.
By the time they are all mastered out, I have enough to move onto another mech.

I quite agree ... and I have all 4 elite skills unlocked for the 4SP. This was about whether I sell my other two chassis or upgrade them and bust out the master skill.

I am almost thinking this ... but this is Beta ... and we are going to get a wipe before launch right? So if we are going to get 1 more wipe, and the top master slot / module is not that important for a Medium Brawler ... then it's probably best I move to something like an CP-K2 ... or a AT-DCD

I do not think it is worth it right now to get Master. It's something I'll get eventually but once I unlock elite efficiencies I pretty much go play something else.

Anything other than capture accelerator won't change your game all that much. I have modules but I hardly bother moving them from mech to mech to equip them. I prefer modules to stay that way rather than be a requirement.

PGI has stated that they don't plan any more wipes from now on. So in my mind, why stop when you are on a roll? That is why I'm going to bring my 4P, 4G, and 4SP all up to Mastery first before moving on to the Cataphracts. In fact, All I have left is earn 7K on my 4SP before I have them all at Mastery. Now weather I'll complete the Mastery tier is another matter. 21.5K is a lot of grinding when you don't get squat for XP most of the time.

Master can be reached by any 3 elite mechs in the same weight class (light/med/heavy/assault). Getting to master isn't really important ATM for the module slots.
