Base Defense Bonus

Is anyone else sick and tired of sacrificing their mech to defend your friendly base while your teammates are capturing the enemy's, and getting absolutely nothing out of it (except maybe a win bonus) while your teammates sit around at an empty cap and collect cbills and XP? i feel like this happens to me all the time- and the only reward i get for actually playing defense is a totaled mech...

So i'm suggesting someone add a base defense bonus (for holding base from capture or damaging enemy mechs while they are in your base etc). maybe this will help people play the objective a little more, too

I agree this would be nice, but there is a slight issue.

They removed the capture bonus and win bonus so I highly doubt they would add a defense bonus.

A defense bonus would cause pugs to split as the game starts, there should be no attack or defense playstyle.

The game is already based around speed, firepower, and weapon range/heat. Low speed is not the same as defense.

I said nothing about speed or firepower. I was pointing out that you said there should be no attack or defense play style. Which means people should neither attack nor defend.

i'm pretty sure the main reason they even added attack/defense was to keep a situation where a fast mech was left on one team and a slow mech was left on the other, where the fast mech would just run away for ten minutes until game over.

I guess i just need to get my team to realize there's no point in attacking and we should just protect our base.

i'm really getting sick of these new bonus rules... and pug groups lol

Nope not really. SInce they get Zero extra Cbills for capping(other then Salvage).. and only a small XP amount for capping... One reason I get so annoyed when a Assault mech avoids the fight to cap and we lose because we were down a Brawler in the fight.. Happens far to often..

The fact that 1or 2 lights with Cap acels cant end a good fight is a very good thing.. Only time you should be capping now is if there is only 1 guy and he is shot up and hiding.. With no rearm and repair only Stat ladys of the night care about dying now
