I removed my 195 xl engine from my 2D Commando so that I could use it in my 3A Commando.

For some reason the endosteel dynamic armour shifted into the engine, so I cannot put a new engine in.

Yes I know its dynamic and if I have the space its supposed to shift back, only it doesn't the only way is to strip the endosteel off and put it back on.

The Mechlab forced you to save this bug and you are screwed.

This does not happen each time, it happened this time, which is why it is a random bug.

The only way to fix this is to remove the endosteel and reinstall it, which then wastes double the amount of money, its pretty annoying.

you do know endosteel shifts around if it has the crit slots to flow into right? I hotswap engines on all of my mechs, and basically all of them run endo and i've never had an issue.

the game can switch around only dynamic structure slots, so the only reason why you couldn't fit an XL engine was that you didn't have the 6 additional free slots it requires.
Since the last patch, Mechlab works perfectly for me.

As long as your ES is dynamic, it can fit itself anywhere. The only reason for such "bug" to occur, is that you had your side-torso filled with DHS and there were no slots enough for side extents of a XL-engine. This way you ould see it all Dynamic, but will be unable to install it due to "not enough slots".

...so basically you took your engine off, filled a bunch of critical slots with other stuff, and then tried to put the engine back in. Hint, take some other stuff out the engine will fit fine.

Ah no think you missed the point completely lol. The endosteel filled up the engine compartment you can't put another engine in without removing the endosteel, thats the bug!

Go ahead and drop your engine in there. All the Endo will move somewhere else. If you have more that 14 empty Crits you can consider a "Dynamic Structure" crit and free crit.

Just to be clear, are you saying your Endo-Steel structure slots aren't being dynamic as they should be? If so, yeah, that's a bug.

But the way you're saying it just makes it seem like you don't know how dynamic slot use works...

The topic is called endosteel bug, listing what is normally supposed to happen clearly does not apply.

He is saying its bugged.

So then telling him that he should just put the engine back on top of the dynamic endosteel has already been answered.

Yes, I think he knows its dynamic since he already tried putting the engine back in there.

Echo!!!

BUG!!!

Facepalm lol

He also edited his post in response to the responses he got, to clarify what he was talking about. Please take your face out of your palms now.

Edit: Way to like your own post, that's classy. :)

I usually assume that making a post in the first place shows how much you like your own words. Clicking the Like on your own posts makes me think of GWB. "Hi I'm GWB and I approve of all those things I just said a minute ago." It's silly at the least and can be mistaken for arrogance in some cases. There's a guy around here who Likes EVERYTHING he posts. I refuse to endorse any of his posts because he's already done it first.
