A frequent problem I've encountered while playing involved disconnected players.
Whether they disconnect immediately, or mid-game, or even a few seconds before they die, the end result is the same. "Koniving has killed " While we can't help those that crash or try to join a game just to not have the proper heat sinks attached to their mech, we can help when a pilot disconnects before his defeat in a vain attempt to save his kdr. Also I would like to save those precious seconds wasted on finishing off a mech that disconnects by having some sort of way of knowing when the player disconnects; as sometimes the "Name disconnected" reading doesn't catch much attention.
So then when a pilot ditched his mech at the last second preventing me from acquiring the kill, I blurted out: "He ejected!" Overall, we at the ZhiZhu Mercenary Corporation rather liked the idea. It would make sense, of course. The enemy pilot is making an active and conscious decision to abandon his mech before his defeat. Following that up with an animation of the cockpit bursting open and an ejection seat launching would make sense.
Could even offer to let us salvage the kill by hitting the pilot as he or she ejects before it despawns somewhere. But I'm not expecting that much. Also, stumbling upon a mech with an open cockpit would tell us immediately that x-mech is unmanned and therefore, not worth any of our time.
To help reduce the number of disconnects before destruction, perhaps require a voluntary exit to play a pilot animation involving reaching down and pulling on the lever; and if the pilot is killed before then, well so be it. It would certainly help reduce the number of players who mysteriously "disconnect" just seconds before a killing blow hits them. Might even make the whole ordeal of a pilot disconnecting prematurely fun.

There are more important things than making the head pop on the mech and firing a rocket straight up.

At least they could add a 10 seconds timer before you disconnect.

I know there's more important things, but it certainly would be fun somewhere down the line. Especially when people rage quit and deny you your kill by disconnecting at the last possible second.

Still would love to see this. Yes, there are much fewer disconnects. However there are still "OMG I don't want a death" quitters that drop out before the killing blows, resulting in "Koniving has killed " with the coward's name not coming up nor counting as a kill.
It makes me sad. I want to see their cockpits launch for the sky -- and even better, have a chance of shooting it to get the kill even if they just disconnected.

I support this idea, but it ranks somewhere between "Fix the tab indexes on the login page" and "Let me rename 'mechs" on my list of **** that needs to get fixed. Make this suggestion again in another four or five months, and I'll care a lot more =]

There a tons of things like this that needs to be changed/fixed , just let PGI alone , they dont even bother reading all those threads atm .
The only solution to all those "wrong moves" is to wait and have patience , because the game is still in BETA , and most of us forget that.
