Please clarify : Are beta profiles with ages of less than 18 automatically screened out when you send out the invites, or is that only checked when it comes time to sign the NDA?

There is no way to double check what birthdates we entered and some people probably entered a birthdate of 2011..

Edit : This thread is not about whether you can get into the beta if you are under 18. Neither is this thread about co-signing a NDA.

Another one up. I've heard a lot of unofficial word as to NDA ruling out birthdays under 18, but no official word- the MW twitter hasn't responded to me either.

It would be kind of ridiculous if they let anyone go back and change their birth date to get into the beta.

They need you to sign the NDA, if you're under 18 you can't, so obviously they don't want/cant have you playing the beta.

So I am the only one who thinks that people who can't read wouldn't make good testers?

I have heard many people say NDA is 18+, but there is such a thing as getting a co-sign. What I want to know is if Piranha is bothering to go through the trouble of that or not, so I can either give up on getting closed beta access or continue to hope I'm selected. I realize it's unlikely, but I'm just as much of a rabid fan as anyone else on these forums, and I would like to know for sure, from an official source.

An NDA, to my mind is a legal binding!

If you are under the legal age to sign a binding contract. Then you can't be a Beta tester...... Simples!

I can go ahead and tell you right now that no game dev is going to bother with cosigns for trying to get people into a beta. Beyond ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure that nowhere on the beta profile does it actually state that beta invites will be screened based on the entered birthdate, hence this thread asking for clarification.

Lets try and keep speculation to a minimum while waiting for an official response.

In most states you cannot be help to any contract you sign if you are under the age of 18. PGI will not, and should not, waste the time for you to get a co-signer. Just google this and see "signing a contract while not being 18"

It is not speculation, you can't sign the NDA if you're under 18, and there is no procedure, nor should there be, for cosigns. Period.

NDA requires being able to enter a legally binding contract ( NDA), so you have to be 18. I have never seen a game dev (since they use electronic NDAs, not paper) allow a parent to sign on behalf of a minor.

An interesting question... An NDA is a contract and most states bar minors from entering into contracts without a gaurdian signature. lol, might add some maturity to the beta test.

For crying out loud!
Will you stop with the "I'm under 18, but I want to sign up for Beta"

You can't......You can't!......You can't!

There, is that plain enough???

This thread is not about co-signing or being able to sign a NDA while under 18.

Can we please stop with the speculation and just wait patiently for an official response?

I think it was a Star Wars Adventures were I signed my 8 year old up and stated his age. I then had to verify through my E-mail that I was over 18 and it was ok for him to play this PG-10 game. I also set up a Guardian account.

How can you say that?

You started this post with the above statement.

I only wanted an official word (yes or no) so my brain can finally stop nagging me with false hope. I tried simply using twitter, thinking that would be an undisruptive way to get an answer. I did not get one. I can read, I am not whining about not getting in. I realize the devs and other official people are busy, but I also know they are active in responding to questions. Therefore, I had been trying to get an official answer here.

Apparently, the conclusion drawn here is that the people asking are deaf and whiney. Seeing as a berjillion people have screamed "NO" at this point, I guess I'll settle for that as the word, and smack my brain the next time it says "Maaaaybe!"
