I saw the thread down the page a bit about groups, but I didn't really want to change the direction the poster was going.

I've been playing a couple of weeks and I'm ready to try some premade groups, but I don't really want to commit to a house until I see more about how this will work in the future. I've never used a voice chat system like c3 or teamspeak. All of this rambling is to say without using a mic what is the best/easiest way to join up with premade groups using text chat and not joining a guild yet? I get from one of the guids that c3 supports text chat, but is it still easy to get in a group?

Any of the TS servers are great too. You don't need a mic at all, though it would be preferred. You can easily get a cheap mic for 10-20 USD at walmart or such stores.

If you're looking for something a bit beefier, Newegg.com is always your best friend.

Most of the people in either of the TS servers are fine working with a teammate without a mic. I bought a $13 usb logitech mic a few years ago. Still works great, it's cheap, and it is a standalone desk mic. I've had so many headsets either have the mic or the speakers die, leaving you with half a headset.
