I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight on this. I did some experiments the other day, and I was confused by the results.
First, I would like to apologize to my teammates, you didn't lose much (I was in a non-ecm commando). Besides it was for SCIENCE!!! I launched into several games and just sat there. Didn't move didn't shoot, nothing. In one match (I should have taken screenshots, "bad scientist, bad!") I was fourth in my team's rankings, and I was often above people who actually did damage and occasionally above those who got assists. What gives? These were all particularly bad loses when I saw this (8 to 1, 8 to 2, etc.).

How Are Team Rankings Calculated?

You get ranked by XP earned which inlcude capture, capture assist, component destrution, kills, kill assists, spotting and spotting assists. Damage does not earn XP. If you get steamrolled by the other team it is possible nobody got more than the base XP for losing and so everybody is equal and so you are listed in some other order.
