The STK-3F gets a wider torso twist range
The STK-3H has 20 missile holes rather than 10 on each arm
The STK-5M has an extra missile hardpoint
The STK-5S gets an extra AMS.

The STK-4N gets what?

it'd be helpful if you spoke in more understandable language.

3H gets LRM20s.
3F gets what? Where do you think it gets more torso twist range? twist range, speed, and such are all chassis dependent.

Click the 3F.
Then the 4N.
Then back to 3F.
Then back to 3N.

see the heatsinks and hardpoints?

The 3F really gets a wider torso twist.

I purchased the 4N to figure this out. As far as I can tell it only has drawbacks. It's 10 tubes in the arm, 6 in the torsos. Nothing apparently special about it. The 4N was canonically known for its heat efficiency, which obviously means bumpkis since we can add or subtract as many HS from a mech as we want. What you CAN'T do is add more hardpoints, which this variant loses. Something I haven't done is test the heat capacity of the mech. It would be an interesting niche if it had a greater stock capacity (say 5-10 heat) or dissipation rate, as that would make the chassis fairly attractive as a direct fire laser boat. I hadn't thought of checking it until now, as its never been a defining point of a variant. I'll look into it.

EDIT: Not seeing any changes to capacity.

We're talking about the variant benefits. Everything Typatty said was correct. The 3F does have a greater twist range (85) than the other variants (60). The tube sizes differ on many of the variants such as the 3H (20 tubes means better burst) and 5M (a narc tube only fires 1 missile at a time). Speed and twist speed of a mech is dependent on Engine and skills, not chassis. Some variants have access to a different range of engines, however, and these can be their variant benefits (like the CN9-D).

Thanks for trying it out and seeing what you can find. I'll probably buy it anyway and see what I can do with it. Is the missile hardpoint still on the side torso? It would have at least made it unique to put it on the center torso or something. Maybe the 4N really is just the runt of the litter, but then it's just so odd that it would be included (unless the devs just want to make the other variants seem good by comparison, but that's a weird balancing technique) >_>

I noticed playing around in the mechlab last night... I think the 4N has one extra ton on the stock loadout. And I don't think you can get that extra ton in custom loadouts either. Only have the online mechbay here, could someone check in the actual mechlab?

I noticed that extra ton in the mechlab too. Unfortunately I don't have a free mechbay in game to check it out.
Other than that, I agree. The 4N is just a 3F with less twist and one less missile slot.

Thats not verry friendly and helpfull. It's even worse because you where wrong in your post. Lets take an example:
Lets say this topic is a bar in Canada. He was talking english while you are complaining that he isn't speaking French. Even though English more common and accepted (inb4 official language is bilingual English/French Canadian).

Yes, the 10 slot launcher is in the left arm. The two six shot launchers are in the right and left torso.

The online mechbay is probably buggy. The stock you can purchase, and my custom, are both maxed at 85 tons.
