I like this game :) Yeah some things need changing but it doesn't concern me a great deal.

The reason why I'm taking a break is because of my performance issues. The last patch barely scraped the surface.

i5 3.5GHz 16GB 1600MHz RAM and ATI6950

It should not be running 20fps in a fight on LOW settings - this has all been established before.

I make the post in the hope it attracts the attention of the relevant crowd, and gives users the opportunity to voice their performance woes as well.

As we all know; the issue is rather discriminate. It is affecting a large quantity but equally having no effect on a large quantity also. I guess I am merely the unlucky one, but no matter.

I'll be checking out the new patches to see if performance upgrades were made, and testing them out accordingly.

I am truely apologetic, though. The game is very much fun for the time being. As repetative as it is, the fights are never an axiom. It's always something new.

My only qualm, is that I cannot efficiently enjoy such a great game.

same here join the cue of people thinking a fre 2 play game would welcome all comers but infact it only welcomes speced out machines on the local server. playing as an aussie sucks cause of the lag flowing in and out of the game evry 30 seconds and then when many missles and mechs are running around...

try reinstalling the game. the devs mentioned that there was a bug in the patcher that was casuing preformance loss on some machines.
just uninstall, and start from the ground up

I would try a reinstall as well when you get the chance too. Otherwise, I think you're doing the right thing in taking a break and coming back when the games more developed

Shame, hopefully your problems will be fixed sooner rather then later.

Also, take this as you will.
This is my specs, and I run the game at a smooth 30 fps on low.

i5 2nd gen 2.5ghz (3.1ghz overclocked) duel core
6 gigs of ram
Geforce GT 525m

Optimization is an odd *****.

Haha, this is exactly what I mean regarding the issue being very discriminate.

I would relish a smooth 30 in a fight! and you are gunning 2 less cores than I am, less than half the RAM, and I'm unsure of your card I'll have to look it up.

I do hope it gets fixed so I can join the ranks again. You must also have good fun in the game, Penguin. Green with Envy over here :)

Honestly, I am starting to think people running ATI cards have a LOT more problems than people running NVidia for this game

Hahaha!

That seems to be across the range of many several games.

I love my ATI though, it works well on established systems and optimized games.

You have the most up to date drivers, I assume.

Yeah.. I have Core i7 2.2 GHz (sandy bridge) and GT 540M and I get very nice fluidity. You should check for things running in the background, and run some anti-virus/anti-spyware programs.

I feel for higher ping players. I'm usually 90-100 ping and I never gave much thought to concerns about performance issues. One night for whatever reason my pings were up 160-220. I played about 3 matches and logged out for the night, it was absolute crap.

You should be pounding this game. Your CPU has as much horsepower as mine, and your RAM is as fast. My GPU has a slightly higher core clock speed(800 to 900), but I still run this game really well at middle settings with AA and PP turned off.

This is my build:
3770k(No different than i5 3.5 except that it has Hyperthreading, which the game don't use)
8GB Ram 1600mhz(Capacity doesn't matter though unless you run lots of stuff at once)
HD 6870(Almost the same as yours)
My options Advanced tab, from top to bottom, says High Medium High Low Medium Medium Medium Medium OFF, and I run the game seemingly perfect.(Except when game breaking glitches occur, anyway)

If you need to upgrade anything though, go with the GPU. The CPU and RAM are already over the game, especially with an Intel TurboBoost.

Maybe that's his problem, but my MS is usually 50-55, so I can't say. In League of Legends it's 65-70. Before I quit WoW, I had 43 on my realm. It's nice to live near the game servers. I don't know my GW2 ping but it has to be low as well, there's no kind of action delay.

i would recommend a full reinstall... then instead of doing low settings i would try the high option... as crazy as it seems it has worked for some... they get better fps in high than with low

i'm running an i5 3570K
8gb ram
and an ancient nvidia 450gts

i can get a solid 40-50 fps... lowest it goes is 35fps, which is leaps above my old core duo that barely got out of the teens

i did custom settings. turn blur off... shadows to lowest setting (off), i'm running textures on very high everything else on high

Running the game on its highest settings with 2 Ati 6950s in CF - frames between 45 to 60 ps - without CF even being implemented yet..cards are unlocked though. My i7 is overclocked to 4.4 ghz and I have the same ram.
I suggest that you try unlocking your card shaders and upping your cpu speed. The game should not be running so badly with your current specs.
