hi. some questions i have about missiles:
with LRM's are they fire and forget once you have established a lock? (i.e. you get a lock, you fire them and then you are free to persue a life of religious fulfilment or otherwise do other stuff) or do you need to maintain your lock until they have hit the target?
SRM's with artemis... it was my understanding that artemis was the locking system, i have just started using SRM's but my mech never tries to establish a lock. are SRM's ALWAYS manual aim only.
also, are there any missiles (i am thinking more SRM's) which upon impact will cause a significant raise in temperature in the target mech? i vaguely remember there being something like that in mechwarrior 2.
happy hunting.

No, you need to maintain the lock. Otherwise LRMs will hit the "last known location" (where target was when you lost lock).

Artemis only tightens the spread for SRMs, they are still dumb-fire missiles.

Inferno warheads are not in the game (yet?).
