Some common complaints are that:

The ultra jams even when not firing double.
LBX autocannons suck.
LRMs have no use with ECM on the field.

I think all of these could be solved by a weapons toggle key that works on the weapons matrix in the bottom right.

On the LRM, regular ACs, and LBX ACs, they could cycle from ammo pools. Even if it cycled between ammo sources of the same kind it could be useful, in allowing you to drain ammo from damaged locations first.
On the Ultra autocannon it could change rate of fire, so that no one jams accidentally because of shot delay.

Basically a lot of weapons could be given new life thanks to a weapons toggle.

Interesting idea, i really do like the idea about being able to chose where you drain ammo from first. Perhaps the option to specify that in the mechlab? It would require a lot of multitasking in the field to alter im sure id be ok with it but other users may find more controls ontop of whats already there overwhelming

really? I'm usually too busy firing to be worried about where the ammo comes from. I'd like to be able to dictate which get used first in the lab however.

UAC's ALWAYS have a chance to jam, its not the rate of fire rather the type of mechinism that causes it

It is an idea that has gotten little attention. I would really like the ability to prioritize what location my weapons draw ammunition, and what order they do it. Along with weapon group configuration this would be a good thing to have in mechlab.

I often put ammunition in different places. I might put some AC rounds in the torso with the auto canon, but if I do not have room for more I will stash a ton in the head. I would want my AC to draw from the torso slots first and the head last.

This will not change the OPs list of criticism on how those weapons function. it will serve to mitigate ammo crits in a prolonged match. To respond to his list.

1) The UAC5 jamming way to often, ok on the first single shot, is a known issue. The devs will fix it in one way or another. I hope they adopt a progressive meter system that increases the chance of jamming the longer you hold down the trigger.

2) While LBs are not as potent as they could be, they do not out right suck. The are a good weapon to use against damaged targets, and light mechs. They may not have the long range punch of a regular AC10, but they can be used to good effect in a brawl. The real strength of the weapon is that it can use both LB and standard AC rounds. This is not the case for MWO. I'm not sure if the devs will give that function to them.

3)The effect on long range targeting, or lack there of, that ECM has does not make LRMs useless. It does make it more difficult, with a very large reliance on teammates to spot. I have seen LRMs wipe out mechs with ECM. I have also done it.
