Yep, that's right! Flame away trolls, but I think all the "conquest sucks" threads are being posted by people who solo drop with a random mech. All you lone wolves out there, you have no right to complain about the consequences of YOUR decision. Go join one of the many community voice chat servers and start dropping in a group, nobody is going to force you to join a unit. NGNG is a great TS server for non-faction players.

My favorite thing about conquest is that winning more or less requires using a totally different selection of mechs than assault.

Overall our team is much lighter and we generally don't bring Assaults at all. This is a stark contrast to Assault where in 8 mans the more tonnage your team has the better your odds of winning (my unit refuses to bring more than two or three assaults to 8 man Assault drops because we feel it is kind of an exploit.

My first impression of conquest mode was bad, but since then players have adapted and started using appropriate mech combos and tactics and it is a blast.

My first play session of conquest was two hours of four man drops. We basically went with our normal mechs and played it as a deathmatch because the resources seemed to be taking forever to build up. I had the impression that the game was just deathmatch, we hunted and killed every one of the enemy team long before the resources neared 750.

My second play session was with a couple less experienced pilots in my group and we lost the majority of matches. What caught me off guard was that most of the matches we lost, we lost to a resource win! The resource counter is not to slow after all!

By the end of the following night my unit had worked out a few tactics and counters that work and switched to using different mechs and loadouts more appropriate to those tactics.

We have had a few really exciting super close matches with other teams using similar tactics to ours. We also have won a match with only one scout surviving on our team while the other team still had 7 mechs!

Also I'd like to point out that all the satisfied players are playing the game, and all the dissatisfied players are here on the forums complaining. You are the vocal minority, the happy majority don't want to waste game time on forums!

I've found that as long as you don't let the enemy team cap more than 3 points. You can kill them off (or be killed off) before breaking 600 points.

The only games I've seen the 750 come into play have been a lone survivor going up against 4+ mechs managing to outcap them by avoiding (usually a fast mech). Or the opposite. 4+ mechs capping because they just can't catch the last surviving mech.

So yeah, to me the conquest mechanic seems much more like an after battle option, not the focus.

Side note: they should also add cap xp/cbills and decap xp and cbills. Nothing hefty, maybe 1k and 15xp for every cap/decap.

I actually like Conquest better. I only drop Assault when I want a change, or if people in the group want to.

PC gamer stated that Conquest would have Defenses so I was irritated when it did not. Mutatator was said to most likely to be the first game mode and have the Spawns. I don't know what went wrong or if they are adding the defenses at a later date. Conquest is ok but it needs to entice you to cap and not just TDM. I think maybe taking a chunk out of money out of the kills, giving extra c-bills to all parties on base of complete cap and throwing in some defenses would make the gamemode a lot more appealing.

**** and stop making general statement that you do not have the evidence to back up. Due to college classes being out I have time to play the game right now, but during the semester I will not so planing, and playing in groups does not work for me. I find nothing wrong with the conquest mode.

I like it too. Needs a couple of tweaks however. I would like to see greater rewards for actully playing the game how is should be played and not just team death match. More C-Bills and XP for winning by conquest, capping a point, assisting in capping a point, etc. Make playing the game worth more then just killing the other guy.

Conquest has two problems.

1) Takes longer to finish a match ... and most matches are finished Assault style anyways (the other team dies).

2) You get less CBills for the same amount of time / effort. On average, I make 40% less CBills, per match, playing conquest over Assault. Then, when you factor in the fact it takes longer to play, you lose another 20% or so of those CBills over the course of the night.

Not flaming you, just pointing out the obvious. Conquest SUCKS if your concerned with making CBills / Experience.
