"Gauss" is mispronounced in game. Should sound like "gowss".

distant future after a dark age. a great deal of knowledge has been lost. my guess is the pronunciation of gauss was one of those things.

tldr:stop nitpicking.

It is pronounced Gaows in German. I don't know French, but I suspect it is similar. As such, I see no problem here.

Since it's somebody's last name, I think we should be saying how ever they heck he said it.

That said, Gauss Rifle is pronounced "Rail Gun".

Saying it like Gows just sounds lame. saying it like they do in the game sounds good ;)

Friedrich Gauss was from the Holy Roman Empire which was neither holy nor Roman. As there seem to be so many inconsistencies in this entire thing, perhaps we should get rid of the Gauss Rifle (read: Coil Gun) altogether so as to avoid any confusion on the matter... ;)

Here are recordings of three different individuals (a Briton, a German, and an Italian) pronouncing the word. ;)

Gauss is a unit of magnetic intensity which comes from a name which is pronounced like so:

http://upload.wikime...edrichgauss.ogg

Interesting fun fact... he was the last person in the history of the world to understand everything about mathematics (since his death more mathematic fields have been created)

If you want to sound like a hick then you should indeed rhyme Gauss with the word Hoss. If you want to say the name correctly then it should rhyme with spouse.

On a semi related note for all you WoT fans..... the Maus tank is also pronounced just like the english word mouse. It is not a "moss" tank.

Incorrect sir.

"Gows" is said with a strong German accent, while "gaws" is also correct.
