Greetings,

I've been a Mech pilot for more than 15 years now, since the release of MW2. Please note that I did not claim to be a 'good' Mech pilot, but I sure love to play even so. I still play MW2 quite frequently and I'm pleased to see a new version finally worthy of the name. I'm currently playing for free since I really can't afford to play any other way at the time. I did want to note that I'm glad that you at least have the option to do so. I'd like to say that I'm looking forward to playing with some of you, but I'm *really* not very good :P Maybe if I can actually turn myself into a decent pilot then I'll look forward to it ;) In the mean time, feel free to say 'hi' next time you see me walking into a wall somewhere.

I do have one question right now though. I can't seem to figure out how to control my weapon groups. How can I assign my weapons to their appropriate keys?

Heyo and welcome to the game.

Don't mind the current bugs and imbalances. Most of them are known and the devs are (hopefully) working on them.

Currently weapon groups can only be assigned in-game. Use the arrow keys to select weapon groups (left/right) and individual weapons (up/down). Use the right-control key to assign a weapon to a group.

The backspace key switches a weapon group from all-fire to chain-fire.

Welcome to the game!

You should drop by the guides section, general first, then battlemech.

This guide in particular is nice:
http://mwomercs.com/...or-new-players/

Also, if you do a search for 'trial mech', you'll turn up a few guides that should help, but they do rotate on a fairly regular basis, so they won't be all that up to date. Also, trial mechs suck. They suck so much that there should be a new word invented that more adequately conveys the enormity of their suck-ness, because really, suck just doesn't even begin to describe them. So don't judge the game based on the trial mechs! Once you save enough cash to buy your own, which shouldn't take too long with the new cadet system, the game really comes alive.

Good hunting!
