Just doing a few tests and WOW!

On a intel i7-3500K or whatever the sandybridge is code named runs on all 4 CPU's but on none of the threads so only utilising 4 out of the 8 cores! Not that this is an issue with 4 out of 8 working but what about the lower end processors? What about AMD that HEAVILY rely on multi-threading? This is surely a known issue and easily(ish) fixed. THis will be the cause of MANY problems on peoples systems! Especially AMD ones!

Multi GPU is not supported at all. WHAT? I run it with a ATI 5850 and get a nice 51 FPS on full detail @ 1920x1080 dipping below 40 sometimes. I swing a 5870 in with it and nothing! Worse infact! Thinking it may bcause there 'slightly' different cards i put a IDENTICAL 5850 in with the other 5850 and nada, Nothing! The same. I bitcoin mine, Hense so many 5 series cards. Not that 6-7 are any better haha. Advertising sells well ;) Is this true for Nvidiots cards too or is it once again 'optimised for nvidiots'?

THese are fundimental issues which should have been sorted in closed BETA! All this tells me is they have no information on systems that use multi-gpu which is a cause of many issues in itself! All seems sloppy and slow work by PGI by what i can tell. No wonder lower end systems struggle and if your using a AMD CPU which rely on well coded software for multithreading..... OUCH!

I can't see how these have been allowed to stay in the game to this point and not to test Multi-gpu support is next to idiotic!

Seriously! This is fundimental stuff! These issues are surely noted already?

EDIT: Loaded STALKER: C.O.P with atmosfear and other mods which NEED the extra grunt from cards and nothing wrong with my system & crossfire, Defenitly this game!

lolwut

So you're complaining that HyperThreading isn't actively in the code for your Intel box, and ascribing a problem I've not noticed with my Phenom to AMD hardware? MWO runs on all 4 cores (albeit utilization could be better).

http://en.wikipedia....#Multithreading

The hyperthreaded 'cores' you're referring to aren't physical cores, its a software distinction that dates back to the Pentium 4.

As far as multi-GPU setups, that's been known for awhile.

Crossfire work, it give me improve performance, you need to force catalyst to use Crysis 2 profile for MWO, and add r_multigpu = 1
to your users.cfg

Proper multi-gpu support is coming, its just low on the development priority list, don't expect that until the game is out of beta

An I7 2600k would be Sandybridge, the 3 series number is Ivybridge and the I7's here are 37** numbers. Interesting, because my AMD FX 8120 used to see activity across 6 cores and minor activity across the last 2, so the modules were definitely in use. I like how you say that making the game use the threads would be easy ish, i take it you knowledge of game engine coding is extensive? It's not exactly a tick box.

True, and a pain for great many however AMD and NVIDIA need to make the profiles as well, if it's not supported yet which neither SLI/Crossfire are...im not sure why you would expect them to work.

They are fundamental issues, which generically are sorted out during beta, if you have played recent betas, such as GW2 and Planetside 2 most of their optimization work came in open beta, when they had sufficient playerbase to get a good overview of results.
But both of those studios had far more resources (read coders) than PGI do, it seems people forget that PGI are a relatively small studio with limited people with the skills it's not like you can pull an art designer across to do engine code work.

oh and not all AMD processors rely heavily on multi thread, only the FX series.

Tried the "r_multigpu = 1" and it blacks out my screen. Using AMD's 13.2 beta driver.

And this is why laymans shouldn't talk about programming...

Multi-threaded, thread-safe, real-time networked application is "easy"...

LMAO...

To get rid of black screen

The first time after you do the r_multigpu = 1 line
you need to go into options, advanced

disable post-AA
save
enable post-AA
save
disable post-AA again
save

subsequently EVERYTIME you START the MWO client you need to

enable post-AA
save
disable post-AA
save

if you have the black screen because you forgot to do the post-AA bits you can still sort of see in Thermal vision, its really dark and you have to steer using mini map, but enemy still stick out in thermal for you to see/shoot
