Absence of basic lagshield counters:
for example horses in M&B move with more-or-less same relative speed as lights in MWO, on bigger maps, with 300 players, yet they never teleport. For very simple and logical reasons: wide fullspeed turn agle and stopping on collisions. Lights don't have to fall or take damage from collisions and turns, slowdown is enough.
Role for mediums and dragons:
with current game modes I don't see it. Such mechs exist due to cost/tonnage efficiency and mission diversity, but in MWO we don't have any limits and have only one deathmatch mission.
Lrm stalkers in MWO scope:
lrm cats, for example, are vulnerable for melee and snipers. Stalkers are not, their vulnerability is supposed to be speed and tonnage. But speed is not an issue in most cases on MWO small maps and tonnage is irrelevant at all. Can we at least get airstrikes?

Knockdowns and netcode. It may take a while, but once these return lights will be balanced again.
Roles. 1:1 weight matching makes it fine for pug games. I will say that mediums are lost in limbo for 8 mans right now. Dragons, well, that is just your personal preference. It happens to be my favorite mech, and I use it effectively in all situations, including 8 mans.
How are stalkers not vulnerable to those things? I actually think they are easier to kill because of their pathetic speed and torso twist, making them easy to stay behind the whole time, and less capable of running to teammates if they are isolated.

Dragon is my fav mech too, I started with getting it to full upgrades and elite skills. But then I tried phract and having 10 more tons and better hardpoints for exchange of 10-20 speed with almost same size brings me better results in vast majority of matches. Maybe better players can squeeze more from dragons, but so far most players I see tend to do better with phracts too.
As for stalkers, I'm referring to them in pug scope where you can't rely on assist for killing it, and it comes too fat for soloing it quick enough.

I only have one Dragon build that I think is best, and it is comparable to most cataphracts ive seen, and gets the speed on top of it. It is just personal taste though, the Cata can bring more firepower in most situations.
I find stalkers easier to isolate and kill in pug matches normally. I either find them alone, or leave them for last usually.
