I am not conserned about my computers ability to play MW:O, I will upgrade is required.

However I am more conserned that the Founders package may get stuck on a NA server when an EU server becomes available... :o

What I find sad is this. These folks with Crappy *** computers will spend HUNDREDS on ingame $$ yet if they used that money they could upgrade their machines and max out or nearly max out the game.

Take your $60, save it for a few weeks, and buy a dang GPU. And for those who cannot afford to shell out $500

you can always check out cuttingedgegamer to lease a new card for less then $55 per month. I know a few friends who went this route cause they wanted to top tier game, but lacked the initial cash flow. This allowed them the option to purchase a top tier GPU upfront, but pay only a little bit of interest in the backend.

Actually Beta's tend to be poorly optimized and thus hit systems even harder than they would at release. This is why a chunk of the time closed beta's go to people with strong systems, because they know they can run them.

Be that as it may, I'm sure with turning some settings down many systems will be able to run it. If they were /really/ after my dollars they'd make a 64 bit client that utilized all my ran tho :P

I will be getting Elite, no matter what. A working computer solution will follow in due course, if necessary.

I have a high-end mac, so I'm pretty sure I can get the program running on that. If for some reason, that fails, I have my work laptop.

Ultimately, I would like to build a full-on dedicated mech-pit. Given the expense and time required for that though, I am intending to play the game for a little while first, just to confirm the game has a long-term future for me. :P

Just out of curiosity... how many of us are concerned that our piece of shi- computers aren't going to be able to play MWO but still intend to purchase a Founder's Package?

I plan on purchasing the elite package despite the fact that my computer is most likely far too crappy to play MWO. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade but with the beta date so close I doubt I'll be able to get a new computer in time. Here's the system specs the beta profile program spat out for me:

Spoiler

So despite the fact that I'll technically be paying for early access I doubt I'll actually take advantage of it. Is this unusual or do others plan on doing the same thing?

I too am rocking a POS...infact it is your same POS, but with more RAM...that's it. I do have a bad-*** wooden box it lives in though . . . .

Concerned about my systems ability to play MW:O...? A little... it's starting to show it's age and is upgraded about as far as I care to sink money into her... then again, she's about to be put to pasture for my daughter to use and dad's going to go buy a new system...

As for packages, yeah, Elite package when they're available...

Spoiler

You make a good, if obvious, point sir. But there are a few counter points to consider:

1) The Founder's Package is a limited time deal and isn't just in-game $$.
2) People like me intend to support PGI for their efforts in making MWO and the best time to do that is ASAP.
3) "Saving" $60 for a few weeks doesn't guarantee growth. In fact the longer I wait to spend it the more likely it is to get spent on something unavoidable like groceries or gasoline. Case in point; I just had to get my car fixed yesterday and the $200 I had set aside to pay for upgrades and founders package is now gone. Now I'll have to figure out a way to rape the money out of my budget again (which is unlikely as that $200 was a birthday gift).

So all things considered I'd prefer to pay the $60 for an Elite Founder's Package and then worry about upgrading my computer later.

This was a good post. I've been curious about ppl's feelings re: older systems. My specs look almost the same as yours brother.
