A Splatapult is a Catapult with 2 LBX10ACs mounted on Torso.

A real shotgun mech.

Personally I preferred my twin ac20s Cat. Most memorable moment today is a one shot kill on a Raven running over the hill on Frozen city map. Raven is not even scratch.. just the wrong time and wrong place when I place the shot.

A splatapult is a SRM6 cat to me.... probably the most unskillful, cheesey build in the game.

At least AC20 Cats need to aim somewhat, but they're still pretty cheesey.

For me a splatapult is AC20s.

I agree.

But I could see a point making the Dual AC20 build the Whackapult, now that I read some replies.

But I didn't know/think the SRM6 Cat had any specific name.

@ Mustrum

I think it really ought to have a standard name, given how common it is. If you're playing with friends, it's much easier to say "Engaging Whackapult Alpha" and have everyone know that getting near it means death by headshot than having to describe it in terms of its loadout every time.

Given the negative reaction several people had to "Cheesepult" though, I am curious what else works as a name for that build. I'm leaning toward 6x6 ("six-by-six), but am hesitant given that many of them have at least one SRM4

It's not for anything other than the SRM cat.

It means a build that is easy to counter if you see it coming, but brutal if you don't.

Talk about not seeing it coming.. last night with the sick missile damage in my splatacat I walked up behind a groups of like 4-5 heavy and assualts and started picking them off one at a time while even the one I was shooting at kept sniping at the rest of my team.

Come on you noobs learn to use cover... oh wait, wrong missiles.

Did tell them in chat its not a good idea to ignore one though, thought it was common sense.

Don't confuse whackapults with splatapults.

Catapult with all Streaks - StreakCat
Catapult with all SRMs - SplatCat
Catapult with 2xAC20s - BOOMCat

Cheers!

Dual AC/20 = Splatapult or Splatcat
6x SRM-6 = Boomcat
6x SSRM-2 = Skillcat

Pure Srm mindless charging Catapult= SplatCat or Splatapult(less common)
AC20 Catapult= BoomCat
Gauss Catapult= Gausscat

Splatcat is not respectable build. Regardless of how hard it PUG stomps. Bad mech design imo. Talk about skill? Hit a moving Hunchback at One kilometer with an AC20 then we'll talk

I'm more confused on what a Wack-a-pult means is it the Streakcat?

Really, the only important thing to remember is that it's all Garth's fault.

Except the parts that are Paul's fault.

Alternate name for boomcat. The more demeaning name you could say for a cheese build.

And yeah a splatacat is skilless, well aside fomr dodging LRM's, but its good to stick it to the people that claim SRM's don't do to much damage. Hence why I made one.

Splatcat = SRMs (Splatters SRMs all down your front and in your hair.)
Boomcat = AC20s (Boom. Headshot.)
