This is a project i just started working on this morning, its still rough.. really rough.. but i like how it is looking so far.

"I chose to work with the D variant as it was the simplest and one of my favored configurations of the 'Mech. this one wielded an Ultra AC/10, ER Large Laser and twin SRM 4's.

The idea I'm working with pretty much that the cougar is a Heavy Scout 'Mech, or a light assault 'Mech, at least role wise. With this I kinda was going with the armored plated look of the Raven from Mechwarrior: Online, designed by *FlyingDebrise."

^Lazy quote from my Deviantart so i dont have to re-write something new.

*Update: Just sharpened up the features and the edges a bit, working more on the bottom.

Out of all the light mechs, the Cougar is my all time favourite. Like your work so far, keep it up.

Update! She now has Arms... what good is a cougar if she has no arms? :3
I also took some time to clean up some lines, and shortened how far the cockpit canopy extended along the top to the back. I am doing this so A: looks a little better proportioned, and B, less interference with the intakes.

A note about the arms:
they are a bit of a different angle then what the classic Tro config had. This I think will give her a meater 'uhg, me smash' look as well as help with the awkward part about putting on weapons. The cougar wields weapons much larger than IS lights would be able to. And the way that FD has been doing AC's kind of makes it hard to place them onto light mechs. (Just look at the Dragon's AC/5, its as large as a Centurion's AC/10. Both mech's have huge arms like they only do free weights on one side.) So to make the arms fit a little better to what eventually will be a large cannon, i thickened them up and had them stick out at an angle.

Awesome stuff, If the Cougar looks like this when it is introduced into MWO then I may have to consider piloting lights (something I have never done). Can't wait to see it finished mate, keep it up :)

It took me a while, but after a few days of creativity block-ness I finaly got some legs put on this thing. I also spent some time cleaning up lines here and there.

To be honest, im not completely happy with the legs or feet. I want to fix up the armor plates that cover the knees, maybe get a different shape. They are supposed to compliment the plates on the arms, but over all they just are not cutting it. The for-legs how ever i think turned out smashing, and I like the cover for the feet, though they too need some tweaking for sure.

The one thing that i really want to come back and address are the toes. For one, i wanted to change how many the Cougar has, going from 3 in a Y to 4 and an X shape. I think i will brain storm it a while and come back to the thing to re-do the feet. Either way, here she is again both with and without arms. ;)

I think the nose is a little too big, or the arms are too small. Something seems off with the scale. I like the detail on the legs a lot, though.

No, i can see what your saying. It's head is a bit big. This might be because i made the shoulders a bit smaller then the original cougar, but all the same, the head does not fit right. I been thinking on how i can fix it but it may have to wait for a re draw or just carve off a bit around the edges.

Looks good. As Bishop said the head is a bit big. I think the toes are to thin. Looks like its walking on its ankles.
