Long range combat and LRM are a part of BattleTech and Mechwarrior. If you don't like it, uninstall your own **** self. People just crying because they're getting smashed at long range cause they're using exclusively brawler builds which have only short range weapons.

Why can't we have effective weapons for all ranges? Why must it be one or the other?

The amount of people who simply have no clue how things work seems to haven risen sharply last few days/Week.

Watching Teamm8s shooting LRMs form 90 meters and below, people running around in fast Mechs spamming UAC5s/AC2s not hitting ANYTHING with them ( but hey, the DPS is GREAT on these weapons, MUST have!), people bringing ECM mechs not knowing it can be switched to counter ( say WHAT?) - or how it works at all ( it blocks missiles right? Is all I need to know...XD), people not knowing how to use their Mechs, or how gamemodes work ( The winner is an Atlas DDC who was hiding from a capping HBK bhind the building yesterday, carefully avoiding to get into the HBKs LoS/LoF XD ) ...etc...etc...etc...endless sources of whine and qq.

What do we care?

Yup. All competitive online games have a portion of their community that is really loud and angry all the time. There is never a point where no one is complaining, making outrageous predictions about the game dying, or making exaggerated claims about imbalance.

In part, it's the nature of the forum medium. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. People make an angry rant on the forum and then it keeps getting bumped up to the top by other people voicing their disagreement. The more outrageous and easily disputable the claim, the more people who want to storm in and stuff it in OP's face. So there is a facade of an overwhelmingly angry community because those threads keep getting bumped back up to the top.

In my opinion the video game industry needs to find a better medium to gather community feedback and garner discussion. Forums as they are now are just a dysfunctional mess that give people a false impression of the community.

Derp.. I have Fun destroying people using LRM's I'm not crying im laughing at the people who do.. 20.50 KD Ratio without ever using an LRM and everytime we go against them we absolutely destroy them so keep on using em im fine with it just trying to help noobs out..

I don't think MWO is ready for a chat lobby. I remember the chaos in MW3/MW4 on the MSN Gaming Zone. Microsoft had to pay people to keep the peace.
