Hey there,

Smurfy has created an Online-Mechlab to tinker with builds online and most importantly to give players the ability to share their load-outs with friends and the community.

It's in Beta stage right now, and smurfy could really use some more testers to find any bugs and get feedback on the layout and usability.

The reason why I post this here is because only a fraction of forum-visiters ever visit the new-player/guides section where the original thread with smurfys work is located.

You can find it on this site:

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/

You can simply click on one of the mechs in the list, or on "Mechlab" in the Menu, or use this direct link http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab.

EDIT: I got some feedback that it may not be obvious how to share mechbuils: Press the "Share loadout" text on the upper-left side, the build will be saved in the database and you'll get a link with which you can access it.

How does it look?
some of my unimaginative example load-outs:

ECM-Cicada
ECM-Raven
C1-Farmcat
C4-Hybidcat
Obsolete Jenner Workhorse
Old-CTF-3D

Known Issues:

- the heat-efficiency should be a very close estimation to the value displayed in the game, but it is not exact.
(Cooling Efficiency has been added, it should be a better indication of real heat-efficiency)
- minor bug concerning small tonnage discrepancy on a few chassis (more test data needed to pin it down)

So feel free to test it, and post feedback here, or better yet:
In the original thread containing all of smurfys great work.

Thank you for your help testing, I hope this reaches a few people! :)

ps: I post this with permission of smurfy, please note that this is NOT MY WORK, I merely help out with testing, feedback and communication.
It is not my intention to create redundant threads, merely to recruit some more needed testers, and see some interesting builds.

looks good so far.
I know its a work in progress but if you could add pilot skills upgrades it would be even better.
Heat and so forth

Speedtweak is accounted for, heat is not.
It was the intention to simulate the same values as in game (engine heatsinks are also counted as 1.4 in the heateff. just like in game.)
I'll suggest smurfy to add another, more representative heateff. bar.

Thanks for testing :)

Thanks, I will :)
I'm really greatful for his work to (it's obvious I guess:D).. I kept telling him how nice It would be to be able to share mechbuilds easily, instead of describing them, and he actually took the time and made it happen.

btw: feel free to post any builds you create (if you like to share), I'm kinda interested what people come up with.

Nice, but there's a hinge with the artemis. It seems to take up some imaginary crit slots. When applied, even if there are exactly 3 crit slots left it wont let me add another DHS.

Hmm, can't seem to reproduce it.
It would be helpful if you could post the build you tried it with (save button on the upper-left hand side).

I use them both, and I agree.
Apps, sites and all the other community projects are what makes games great; a sign of a healthy community :)

Left arm.

nvm just figured the tonnage is full. That's funny tho, when I tried it tonnage wasn't full.

Must be me then,

There is a small bug concerning tonnage (minor value discrepancy sometimes, has something to do with armor), perhaps that was it.
Still useful data, thanks :)

I don't understand what you mean.
Its a great site with lots of useful information, but no mechbay; people might even start posting their builds in the mechbay there if they feel like it, who knows :)

Looking pretty good so far!

One small gripe: 'mechs are loaded with 0 armor in all slots, in my opinion default armor would be better. It would also be nice if you could type in armor values instead of having to click the plus or minus sign.

Yeah, ok.

I just checked it out and this is pretty cool. I hope this stays up to date so I won't have to download the mechbay program anymore :)

There is a way to load the stock values: tools (upper-left side)-> load stock.
But it loads the whole stock equip, not just the armor, I'll ask smurfy if he likes to add a stock armor button too.

However, you don't need to click, you can just hold down to button to increase or decrease the armor value (very grateful smurfy added it, because my finger was hurting from alpha-testing ;))

It should stay up to date (same as all the data in the tables, sheets) unless devs. decide to hide the info in the game-files :)
But I would encourage you to use both, both are great projects if you ask me.

Thanks. I've been a fan of Smurfy's stats page and have it bookmarked for quick reference, I never noticed the added link (the rest are all relative links on the page so they get ignored).

It does kind of put me in a bind, I'm getting close to a releasable version of my own offline mechlab / stat analysis program but I do want to support Smurfy. The online component and the ability to refer to a build by link are great features.

When you release your tool, be sure to send me a message.
I can also help if you should need some testing :)

Very neat, like it alot

The only suggestion I have at this point is adding a "Free Tonnage " calculator near "Free Slots" for those of us who dont math good

gj man. i am using the offline mechlab atm but i will test the online one..people who do so much for a game should be revarded and helped if possible.

probably others pointed out - armour issue...make it that you can insert the value instead of hitting +/-

- it seems you cant add the heat sink on the engine slot...the slot is not showed.
