Ambient Temperature: 85° C. Highest native life - microbes. I know that it may has been terraformed (looks like that's the case with Forest Colony where there's no native life at all, but still a lot of vegetation) but the temperature is actual, and I think that it's impossible to acclimatize spruces or pines in such environment. Maybe place there some other sort of trees? Sclerophytons or extraterrestrial plants?

The same thought occurred to me. Never in my wildest dreams, however, did I ponder actually starting a thread about it here.

it is an industrial world. the massive factories could be producing heat or severely dammaged the atmosphere. this could have been the result of some sort of recent attack.

Maybe they are the last trees still alive and they are about to die but you only see the map for 15 minutes so you don't see them actually die out.
