Hi everyone. I've played a few game now and spent my cadet bonus on the HGN 733C. I know it is an Assault but I wanted the challenge of grinding straight to a big mech and upgrading little bits at a time as I get C-bills. Anyway, I've already chucked in DHS and a big engine and changed the missiles to streaks HGN-733C and am aiming at this HGN-733C

Would an XL help much? I rarely lose side torsos. HGN-733C

I want to get this mech working well, then get 2 other Highlanders to finish basic and immediately sell those 2. This will give me a pimped out 733C and 3 mech bays for brawling Victors.

I guess my question is do you have any advice for setting up and piloting a DPS jump brawler. I'm not a fan of sniping or alpha builds regardless of the meta. Thanks in advance, UAC5

edit: grammar and stuff

I love my Highlanders, but I have to say I was stupid for putting in a 325STD in the -733. Just didn't cut the mustard.

People bemoan SRMs for not being an AC replacement any longer, but I still like them; My advice is to load up on 6-racks to go with your AC/20, but keep them vanilla for weight resons.

I would hesitate to sell off any Highlander, even after the Victor gets here. It seems bad policy to try and level smaller units in a "class" you're good in; Ergo: If you do well in other Assaults, you will have as bad a time in a Victor as an Awesome.

I hope to get three Victors too (five jumpjets? Six?!?) but I'm not letting go of anything for them.

This is what my HGN-733 runs at the moment. I spend about three times as much in my heavy metal (HGN-HM) which TBH is the best of the highlanders due to the weapon layout. Racked up 200+ matches in my metal.

Mine is pretty similar to yours, although I dropped Artemis and some SRMs for LL's.

Likewise, i love this HGN, and its the only one i have atm, but i SLAUGHTER in it.
I use an XL 325, one ton less ammo for the UACs, one ton of Streak ammo, AMS/one ton, and 2 Large Lasers instead of the mediums, and ofcourse, no case, one more JJ

HGN-733C

This is what I roll with
Whittles opponents down at range while I close and finish them with the AC and SRMs
The ER PPCs ensure I still pack a punch late match as well, and make for an extremely powerful alpha up close if I can spare the heat.

Had to scrap the jump jets, but I don't really care, they just weigh far too much. I pack enough SRM ammo to last me to the late game to make up for it.
