I built this machine about 2 years ago from second hand parts. I get 40-50 FPS every time I play, save for when I get the 4fps bug. That's being addressed by devs. Also, you have to accept that this is beta and the engine has not yet been optimized. We don't even have DX11 yet. That will come in time.

If OP wasn't trolling, he wouldn't have mentioned Hawken. I've seen this tactic before. Proponents of one game going to another game's forum and badmouthing that game. So, yeah, he's trolling.

For real. "I'm going to name a competitor and claim and I run their game without a graphics card."

Exact same thing i immediately thought when i read the OP's post. Seen the same kinds of posts in WoW about SWTOR, In SWOTOR about Tera, in WoT about MWO etc.

It's not the size of your engine that counts it's how you use it :D.

Double kill!

No, but seriously, that was one awesome post. I think you just won the forums. The point being that the cry-engine is in fact not so fantastic. Sure it looks nice in many ways, but it really doesn't justify the immense drain on resources.

This is a Tech Demo of Unreal Engine (Samaritan Tech Demo). And to run that it needs immense drain on resources (like a SLI of GTX680).

Here is a Ingame Techdemo of CryEngine.

Notice there are no outstanding textures or geometry being shown on the unreal vid. Just lights and darkness, so the camera either gets blinded, or cant see properly in the blackness.

Reminded me of this.

Just chill out, and wait for DX11, you havent seen nothing yet.

This is the Tech demo trailer of unreal engine 4

Cryengine 3 tech trailer

Remeber what the Engine is capable of is decided by the skills of the divelopers. Tho i personally like Unreal Engine the best, Cry engine can be just as good if optimised properly.

CryEngine 4 says, "This is a CryEngine 3 video."

Because if your game looks like it's 2003 in 2012, you're doing something wrong. I want the BIG textures, and TONS of shadows and tesselation of cryengine 3.

When I buy a computer or console to play videogames, I expect them to be as advanced today as they were back in the wooden age of gaming, where each release was a step forward. If I wanted to play unreal mechs, I'd own an xbox 360.

Ok, but I don't see how that's holding anyone back. Even if it's old, UE3 is a very stable, easy to use platform. There are a few games out there that I suspect would never have been able to be made if it wasn't for the engine.

People really don't believe that my computer has no graphic card?.. it plays games using CPU to generate the graphics instead of a graphic card. I can post SS of my fps in both games if u like.

eh

what i really wished for was a cutome engine where we had full terrian destructive ability (river city in ruins!!!!) we destroy a section of a building and itle tip that way creating a road block. i want to pick up a centurians arm and **** slap him with it. i want to drop kick a raven.

but alas i give it 25 or so years till some mech fan creats a game this intense.

no current engine can do that (i think might be wrong)
