Hey guys,
im currently mostly playing my shiny new Stalker 5M Brawler.

Loadout:
300STD Engine
4 Mlas
1 Llas
5 Srm4 + 5tons of ammo
22 DHS
Armor max except legs

The first matches with this loadout were all wonderful, got Almost always at least 600Dmg + a ton of fun. Several times managed to get 1k + Dmg.

The playstyle pretty much comes down to poking with Llas as long as enemies arent within brawl range. When someone gets into range i fire my Srms constantly and often also my Mlas (thanks to many DHS) aiming for their Center Torso chewing through their armor.

However lastly my i got bad luck and am constantly getting swarmed by at least 3 enemy mechs at once. Often im all out of a sudden the sole surviver of my team going up against five mechs. Needless to say i got no chance.

Even though Artemis wont help with getting swarmed. It made me think about optimizing my loadout. After all in 90% of my fights i go straight for the CT, to kill my enemy as quickly as possible. The spread on the Srms however seems to be pretty high for this purpose.

How much of an improvement is Artemis, and which components/weapons would you drop for it?

I use both Artemis and Tag on my RS, helps me survive a little longer.

As someone who pilots a 6xSRM6 cat, I've personally haven't noticed any difference between running with and without Artemis. All it does is tighten up the spread of the SRMs though this shouldn't be an issue if you're making your shots count anyways.

Yeah, you want to add a TAG if you want to optomize your LRMS. And don't stand so far in the back! Get up there and use those lasers too!

Not really like a Stalker, but with my HBK SP I swear on having ARSM6. Why? Because I often engage enemies from 150-200 meters away and the spread with the SRM6 is really bad, they fan out way too far.

For "melee" distance within about 50-90m I'd say you wouldn't need to bother with adding Artemis for SRMs, you'll get a nice shotgun effect without it. SRM4 have less spread effect imo where Artemis isn't really necessary.

Did you actually read anything i wrote?

Its about SRMs not LRMs and i use my lasers, a lot. The questions is if Artemis is a big improvement for punctual damage or not.

Think of the following scenario:
You are in a Stalker 5M and you shoot a still standing altas, 100m - 150m away from you, your crosshair directly on his center torso with your SRMs, but without using Artemis for them.
Now imagine the same scenario but this time you are using Artemis SRMs.

How much of a difference does it make? How much faster would you core the Atlas?

For targets over 120m the difference is very noticable, SRM6 fan out around 100m or sth like that. You just get more focused missile grouping, but it will still spread on the target.

Btw I always go for the RT first on an Atlas, makes things easier ;-D
