I have made my team(s) win (most) with my tactical ideas, that I have told. Some matches I have lost, due to lost of commication...or the "Stick Together". Majority of my team losses are with "Stick together". Easier for LRM boaters to wipe out a team. All it takes for the enemy to spot location, and the message gets out.."They are all at...." and team I am in is wiped out due to "Stick Together" Never won with Stick together. But toying with the enemy I have. Conquest has helped my team win, Either myself being a bug or Winging with a team mate. Because the enemy doesn't cap in time, because they are making movements in "Assualt" mode. Catch me one and one...you be down in seconds, but 3-4-8 vs one...their is no honor in the battle. If "Stick Togeher", put some formation, placement into it. Its gets all messy if not. Their ya go...think.

Their..you have Nailed it. Perfect response.

Oh so you are blaming your loss on sticking together not lack of communication! Kay... Our team wins more often by staying in proximity of each other and massing fire on the stragglers or loners the Scouts find. You really seem to have the idea of combat backwards.

It depends on the situation. Neither sticking together nor going off is gonna work if the situation doesn't call for it.

Like everyone sticking together in the tunnel, or if there's a target of opportunity in conquest or another mech. Off this doesn't mean go chasing after the light in your Atlas but if I'm in my light and see a target of opportunity I'm going for it.... as far as I can before a tactical retreat warrants it.

If you're in a fast mech and can cap in conquest then do it. No-one cares how many died if you get a win.

The ones that blindly stick together like sheep are generally the ones that are incapable of pulling their shots when FF happens.

Got it all wrong, From Mechwarrior 4, as an PIlot Instructor, teacher, and tactical, my Clan earned its name with the Mechwarriors help. In MWO, Just following orders from "Stick Together", and the whole team follows in single file, is a losing battle. 15 mins of your life on the line, is not real much of a tactic with Stick Together. Their is com, but little. I find "Stick Together" is a main manuaver in MWO..and like only one, and its a losing manuaver. Just get tired of it, of Enemy wiping out our whole team, with this "Sticking Together"...Worse play. Here is a few example: Two lances...split up, one light in each. 4 left, 4 right. one light each scout..give out info (Recon) to your lance. Toy with enemy, split them up, out one or two, if so, some take cover, luring. Turning their backs to other friendly lances. Do not think most of you guys can use this stuff (if you know how)...because of "Stick Together" only move you have. I am giving out a lot, and I have the idea of combat backwards you say....lmao...

And 4 Mechs on 1 Mech is no Mechwarrior, just a reward. Heres a cookie.

So your "group of four" stays together (tactically 300-400m) and picks off the Mechs you single out? Or did I miss something? Yes Backwards LOL

Wow..your one nasty one (Read your Profile. Lots of respect to you). Depends on the situation. 4 mechs Running to a pug is like hungry dogs, no honor, just a treat. Play, toy with the lonely guy if you know how, and I bet you can not. Give the lonely guy to a team mate..."Hes all yours....." Earn your name in honor with 3 other team mates standing by. If you know how to Break up, Toy, lure the enemy. Your a master in tactics, or other wise, zip your mouth.

Honor? We're in the IS the only kind of honor we know is to use Axemen if we run out of ammo :)
Now if there were some kind of clans outside the IS, but we all know outside the IS are only Pirates and Black Holes.

I think you guys got it all wrong. Stick Together emerged from all those games were 8 mechs walk in 8 directions and get owned 1 by 1. It is not a tactic it is an attempt to keep a flock of chicken together somehow.
So calling Stick Together a tactic is like telling your children not to touch the hot oven plate is called cooking.

More complex tactics are for 8 man groups on coms. As it sits right now with pug drops or 4 man drops it is difficult to use advanced tactics.

As far as honor is concerned if you wish to fight one on one that is totaly awesome. It is good to see people wanting to put their own skill up against that of another person. That being said in the end the game right now is focussed on team play, which in the end means you work as a team to kill the enemy. Perhaps in the future we will have a solaris area that people can use for one on one matches. Until then you might have to drop with friends on coms to get a bit more tactical satisfaction out of the game.

In general, the plan of "sticking together" is waaay too vague. Where do you hold? Where do you move? What is the overall direction of how the team should win? Such fundamental info that isn't as simple as "stick together," but only takes a sentence or two.

Example
"Form up at d5, and open fire as they head up to our upper city. Scout g line. If they cross, regroup at base."

Its not as simple as two words, but it doesn't require much more effort to type out either. And yes, there's a lot that can/does go wrong, but hey, its proven to be better than "stick together."
