I've shot shut down ravens at close range with gauss. They don't take damage where they should, and often take multiple volleys to core. Somethings wrong with the hit registration, even if netcode isn't a factor. That much is undeniable.

The shut down thing is common. Any mech that goes in to a forced shutdown can have this happen. Its very annoying. The hitbox just gets displaced though, so if you can figure out where it is, you can still nail the mech.

Shutdown thing does not seem to happen with any heavier machine I have pounded. Well, one exception being the rare Catapult. Whereas the Raven gets damage reduction and displacement, the Catapult sometimes gets damage nullification. Really odd. Remember myself and a lancemate just blasting into a SplatCat, both of us shooting our alphas twice for a combined total of 16 Large Lasers into its already orange Center Torso armor. Zero damage. Really peculiar. o_0
Again, though, damage reduction seems to happen to Ravens more then anything else I have shot at. I do honestly think it has spots on the mech where there simply is no hit box, so hits there do no damage at all.

Just sounds like hit penetration issues... probably caused by lag and packet loss.
The projectile speeds are pretty quick and collision objects can have issues registering impacts correctly which might result in the projectile penetrating the proxy and then resolving the colllision on the other side, kinda like what happens when 2 mechs walk into each other and teleport about as the simulations figures out where things are going to end up.
Also happy new years.

The shutdown one seems to be based on the speed the mech is going at the time of forced shutdown. So a Atlas can still get it, but is not super common for them to be going full speed while in a brawl, their displacement will also be smaller. Like I've shot one in the CT and it took off his arm. Where as the little light mechs will always get it, since a slow light is a dead light.

I don't know, I kill all lights pretty easily except when my bay doors won' open. I get a lot of raven killing since so many people are playing them and when a raven stops it rarely gets to start again if I am within 200m.
I am not sure if I said this in your first thread or a similar one but most ravens are sporting a lot of armor everywhere except the back.
Almost every raven 3L I fight is using the same build. two/three medium/small lasers, tag only if using two lasers, with streaks and a 295XL engine. This leaves the room for endo and the furro or whatever its called upgrade. After thats all said and done this leaves you a crapload of extra tons for armor.
It's could be a problem with the hit box I don't know but I have never had too much of a problem taking one out compared to other lights (I have only fought a few jenners so this is mainly between raven and com)
I hope they look at it and make sure though.

is this problem LIMITED to the raven?? no, but I experience this much much much more often in my raven than I do in any other mech (my cicada also gets this bug frequently).
I run almost always a Cicada. I own three of the four variants. I can say, I have noticed this myself, but normally in a bad way.
I've been known to swivel to an enemy, presenting my back to them. Get hit. Blow up from my ruined front. I've been known to show my front to people, to shoot and to move around. They hit me clearly in the front. I take it to my already shredded rear armor (and sometimes blow up). With the Cicada, I have not had this bug save me, but I have noticed it on the Raven as well, (fighting against enough of them) and have noticed it going to the better of the two sides before. I have also noticed a raven standing still seems to be able to take far more damage than I can. (I'm talking standing still, not shut down.)
As for the person going on and on about LAG, when your foe is standing still and you see it, it isn't lag. It's a hit box problem...
I've also noticed that I see my enemy shooting at me, and to me they are missing me with wide wild shots. My damage box though, keeps saying they are hitting me square in the torso. That, would be lag I'm guessing. But it's kinda odd to take damage that isn't hitting me on my screen... (Their shots are normally swinging behind where I use to be, not where I am or where I am going.)

lol, cool story bro, you should tell it at parties.
simply throwing down my constant observation of the mechs hit box behavior. it's bugged, obviously.
Wait for knock down to come back. Light mech's will never run circles around you without the fear of falling down and dying.
I have a Raven 3L, XL 295, 3 medium Lasers, s SSRM 2's, ECM and all the upgradable bells and whistles. I enjoy it, know to be careful and always hope there are more ECM's on my side. But at this point of the game, since ECM has been out, you should always count on vs's a team full of ECM mechs and most of them either Ravens or Comando's. Once match I saw cracked me up. Was vs a team full Commando 2D's and a couple Raven 3L all with ECM. We thought he had em, No Problem right? Then 2 Catapult A1's come out with all SSRM 2's. We lost very hard lol.

Yeah sometimes ravens are just pure impossible to hit.
Its not consistant though cause sometimes you can kill them and ping doesnt always seem to be the issue its wierd, the hit boxes are just totally messed up sometimes.
I did over 200 damage to a raven this morning and didnt even turn its armor past bright yellow, i hit a overheated standing still raven from 60 meters with 3 full alpha strikes from my AWS-8R while i was also STANDING STILL. And it just powered back up and ran off, so it took 4 Artemis controlled SRM6's 2 LL 1 MPL 3 ******* times in a row to the REAR CT and just shrugged it off and ran away, thats well over 200 damage coming up on 300 damage, enough to core a atlas through full frontal armor with ease, hell that would core 2 atlas probably.
One of the only games ever i disconnected in before i died, After the three alphas into the raven which did nothing i overheated and just quit, im sorry but when this happens i have no drive to play the game.
Its just to obviously rigged in favor of light mechs its a joke, and deploying ECM in these condidtions is seriously the dumbest thing i have ever seen. And on top of that they removed knockdowns which were the only thing keeping the lagshield in check, the devs in this game are so seperated from reality its like they never play their own game, or they just all play lights and are deliberatly trying to give themselves an advantage.
