Hello there,
I have been playing for quite some time, however I have just recently started playing with some epic music pulled up during matches.
All was fine for a while but then I decided I'd like to be able to change tracks mid match if say, I'm suddenly tossed into a battle or what not. After a little google search I found that winamp has global hotkeys which I can enable. Which I did. I tried it with winamp minimized and browsing the web and was delighted.
However, I then launched the game and found out that apparently MWO is programmed to ignore any keypresses which are not game related. The windows key does not function, nor do any of the hotkeys I set up for winamp....I still am forced to alt-tab out of the game to do anything.
Is there any way around this? I understand why you would program this function into the game, hell I've accidentally windows-keyed my way out of many a game at the worst possible time...however I would really like to be able to use my global hotkeys in the way they were intended to be used.....on the fly.
TL;DR: MWO blocks winamp hotkeys....what do?

Unfortunately this did not work. Any other potential solutions?

Does your keyboard have a media panel? I can skip songs in itunes with the media keys on my keyboard. I think those override any other programs.

No, it only has volume and mute keys...which work to raise and lower my main volume even in game. However even if I bind those volume keys to my winamp hotkeys list they still are ignored.

Gonna bump this old thread. I have the same issue but with foobar. MWO hijacks all keyboard input. my multimedia keys work but I have several special global hotkeys. ctrl + up arrow and ctrl + down arrow for foobar volume and ctrl + right for random advance that do nothing if MWO has focus
