In standard view mode, it's pretty much crap, but in Heat Vision mode it lets you pick out and shoot targets at really extreme ranges where you wouldn't even be sure the target was there without it. It's good for those kinds of shots, but won't help with pinpoint sniping. I think this may be a reason they don't want to improve the visual quality. This is not your normal FPS where everyone runs around fairly fast and at approximately the same speed. Many mechs move rather slowly, making them easy sniper targets regardless of their pilot's skill. This is mitigated by having a large amount of armor... everywhere but the head. Allowing those snipers to consistently land headshots at extreme range on unsuspecting targets that can't move quickly from cover to cover to avoid the shots would, in my opinion, destroy the game. I can't imagine anyone thinking that would be good except the griefers.

Lol, I'm not often trolling in what I post(Usually constructive), but you're right about rarely getting legitimate Likes. People either rarely hit the button, never do it unless you said something funny, or just don't do it because what you said is way over their head.

I like the zoom the way it is. Engine limitations or not, I think it fits in with the general BT technological setting, which is usually less advanced than you might think in the post apocalypse Inner Sphere.

Real answer is: When they develop it.

Right now "Advanced Zoom Module" is a crappy digital zoom. Take a damn cheap 3MP Benq digital cammera, use digital zoom up to 3X, thats the "Advanced Zoom" thing in game.

Regular zoom is by far better
