Has anyone tried this build yet? I know it would be terrible. But I would love to see a mech firing 100 LRM's

If anyone has FRAPS and more money than common sense, try it and make a video.

lrms 20s are wastefull, unless the enemy is out in the open. Hence they are better for mechs with few missle hardpoints, like the atlas. lrm 10s on chain fire is much more viable and less wastefull system. i could not possibly endorse a 5x lrm20 system. that is madness on legs! you would have to sacrifice 1 of the 20s for 10 more tons of ammo to even be a real threat. also the variant of stalker that has 5 missles hardpoints, has a narc tube, and not a standard launcher. missles will fire 1 at a time through it, so techniqually you would only see a volley of 81 missles followed by a stream of 19 more.

I have 4x LRM20, 2x ML and a TAG on my Stalker. One volley of 80 missiles will drop the enemy mech by about 15-20% It's not as good as it sounds. The LRM's simply spread so much that the damage is spread all over the mech, so most of the times the first volley does only armor damage (goes yellow/maybe red). Because of the huge spread, you will need several volleys to kill someone. The two ML's are not enough to keep anyone away really so you are messed up if someone gets close, and don't get me started about ecm. So overall it's not a great build.

No way man! That thing has 7.2 shots... and lol, 29kph with no AMS, and 15% cooling eff

edit: oh yeah, and one of those is on a NARC tube, so launches 1 missile at a time, an effect some friends lovingly call p*ssing missiles

I use 4 x lrm15's + 4 ML + 2SL on a 3F and it seems to work well. My damage output went from about 400 per round as a brawler spec to 800-1200 per round with this spec. Like you said, the damage isn't focused, but it's great for earning cash from all those assists and destroyed components.

Where are you guys finding the weight capacity for all these 20's though? Are you completely stripping your armor? I noticed with my mech I can't use lighter XL engines because 4 slots on the centre torso are taken up by a gyro.

NM I see it.... severe engine downgrade

try Lrm 15's with a narc and tag, an arty upgrade and maybe a large laser.... i bet you would see some good numbers. :)
