So I just bought a Stalker...love the thing, I've gotten my first full-on kills in it and it rocks! However, I quickly get overwhelmed when faced with more than one or two bogies, either through heat buildup trying to take them on or simply not having the torso-twist ratio or arms to deal with multiple opponents.

Can anyone suggest some good tactics for using the Stalker? Once I get a headset I'll likely call upon one or two of my team's scouts to provide cover and side protection, but other than that any strategies?

Tactics? Never be alone and, if possible, stand some 50 meters behind your teammates. You are to clumsy in brawling that you can only shine when facing the enemy head on. This is also required due to lack of proper arms when even two scouts covering your flanks won't help much.
If you put all your hardpoints to good use and do that, you will be ok.
Good luck and many kills!

let something big (atlas) take the initial fire, then stay just behind him and murderise anything that moves.

oh, and if a light gets onto you get creative with your turning, and blap him with SRM's as he comes around

The way armor is set-up on the Stalker, it's good at leading a team or coming in after fighting has started. The slow twist means staying at the back is not a good idea, you can't turn fast enough to hit behind. The STK-3F has 85d twist range, enough to cover most problems if running a 275-200 engine.

Never fire everything in a Stalker more than once per 0% heat, it just won't work.

Get DHS, makes the heat much easier to manage. No Endo/Ferro/XL, eats up DHS slots.
