We all know the sliding scale of massed fire power. Once it is 8 on 5, the 5 do not stand much chance of keeping the metal. I've seen it won, sure, you have too. Usually, its just grinding the bone after that kind of loss though.
But, lets say that base capture was used to represents points from which soldiers spawn bases. Now if you're down 8 to 5 and fast, you can at least win the ground war, and more importantly, make them split their forces. (this representation can just be role play in your mind for now.
I can wind down the numbers by capturing bases, and move to the next match, broken down chassis intact.
Wouldn't this be really cool in those hinted at 4 Chassis drops, say over 5 maps, with each end like a goal line?
Maybe my stalker fights them off on the hill, sacrificing his 3rd Mech, but saving all our seconds.
When its 8 to 5 are you relishing the challenge, or just "crushing the remainder"? Whats a few extra minutes of cat and mouse, while you desperately try to keep them from getting reinforcements and keep them contained on the battlefield?
