I dont see much of an improvement. Last night on Frozen, my team all massed on our side of the ridge, I scouted the tunnel in my Jenner. It was clear, so I called it out as clear, then ran in on the enemy base. I drew FOUR of the other team back to the base, and called out to my team that I had drawn 4 enemy back off the ridge. After evading and annoying the four back by the enemy base for about 5 minutes, and dropping one of their lights, I peeked at the scoreboard....I was the last man standing. Yes, the FOUR that stayed at the ridge stomped the other SEVEN mechs on my team, then turned back on me while one or two went for the cap.

Your mileage may vary.

I only pug, and last night I had a match where I dropped in a Flame and got into the groove with a friendly Atlas and he had 5 kills and I had the other 3, and we were the last two standing.

On the other hand, I've run out in a Raven 3L, disrupted ECM, held target locks, and never seen a single LRM. I only use TAG if I'm carrying LRMs in a Stalker.

I haven't played all that much over the holidays. However when I did it I played on teams where the PUGs seamed more confused than ever. Most of them were not new as they had some idea of how to play. But,it felt like everyone was playing solo in a team event. I kept following the largest group only to have them run blindly into enemy fire or run away. The play style I am seeing reminds me of COD or even more, Counterstrike.

I have to agree that the situation awareness of many PUGs is bad. Also Weapon management and usage of thermal/nightvision and zoom of trial mech players (not exclusive) is often just bad. I had hours where i was constantly dropping with banana teams where i was the first one killed by an incomming roflstomp (which no one else detected because of ecm and everyone ignored my warning/firering) but still being the top scorer and damage dealer of my team (>200 DMG). The vica versa is when the other team is bananas and i get 4 Kills and ~1200 DMG in a 8-0 win, which is also not satisfying for me. On the other hand i had good and tough fights where both forces where even. They need to implement some ingame voice chat asap, but i don't think this will solve everything. Better matchmaking will be the answer. Right now it's like i have no skill so i get stomped, i gain skill but i also get stomped because my team sucks.
