The point of 6ml or 6PPC isn't for spamming but for cycling them using chain fire and then alpha only on the sure kill.

If they decide only on economic reasons, then yes. Because an ECM Mech (especially if it's a heavy, where ECM doesn't exist yet) would probably be the Hero Mech, that the most people would buy.
And as Cataphract and Dragon already have HeroMechs, it would probably be a Catapult then.

Still, I think, they are going to do a light Mech. Because all current Hero-Mechs now are in the 50 ton - 70 ton range, and an Assault HeroMech wouldn't sell well as they would have to make it very expensive. (like 7000 to 8000 MC - that would be about 30-33 US$! The Muromets already was around 22 US$.)

A Commando or Hunchback with jets would be nice. I still don't get why the lightest Mech in the game can't jump with any of its variants.

Yea hoping for a light hero mech... considering they must have cleaned up with the duo dragon release. But my money is on a new assault hero mech to give the punters something new to buy, more to cover and make up the fact the spider might not live up to it's expectations as when announced.
