This mech build will eventually get SRM6s nerfed.
I'm doing okay on my SRM6 Awe-8R but with only 4 it will suck when they get nerfed.

Why would they be nerfed? They are easily countered as a Mech. They are a fun mech to play I'm sure, with a very specific role but I practically salivate at the mouth when I see them on the battlefield, because it's not so difficult to take them down in most of my builds (and I'm no uber pilot by any stretch). Good fun Mech build, doubt it gets the SRM6 nerfed tbh.

Compared to 6x SSRM A1:
Slower
Hotter
Runs out of ammo faster
Can't chain-fire for continuous smoke effects
No auto-aim
Damage spreads all over unless pt blank

3x the damage

I see no issues. Mainly due to the reduction of debilitating effects and requiring the pilot to actually aim I find them MUCH easier to ear/kill than SSRM catapults were. They also need to watch their heat closely.

Don't need a SRM boat to do this... I did this yesterday in my Ilya Muromets.

Was mostly luck that I happened to walk right through some big hole in the enemies lines on River City, and I stumbled across lone LRM boats, a Stalker and two Catapults. Killed them all on my own until the enemy finally realised what was going on and sent some brawlers to fight me. Was too late though1 Mwahaha

The HE11 it will. They already nerfed the Streak Cat (which I'm not angry about btw, actually happy). But the answer to every alpha-heavy build isn't to make it shoot marshmallows. I mean, this is a Cat... whose very chassis by the way was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO BOAT.

Its strange that SRM6 has only started getting some attention after being in the game this long... LOL!

I had one during closed beta,

It's DHS, endo and some other things that have made it more viable.

In reference to SRMs getting nerfed, they don't need even remotely to be nerfed. The boomcat is (as someone mentioned earlier) a 1 trick pony, and trust me, I have no delusions around that ... as someone else mentioned, the A1 in particular is DESIGNED to be a boat ... LRMs, SRMs, or a combination of the two are all the hardpoints support (missiles only). Just like there are mechs out there designed to be LasBoats (HBK-4P anyone?). Peel off an ear, and you have a 1/2 trick pony. SRMs are fine, the key (as always in this game) is understanding the counter and how to deal with it effectively.

I don't think they are going to nerf the SRM's. It would be stupid. I use a SRM 6 and a Srm 4 in my hunchy moving at higher speeds and anything over 50 meters is a PitA to score a direct hit all the time. Thing is they spread If im 200 meters out I become less fearful of the srm cat even with Artemis yeah they hurt but they are by no means unstoppable. If someones spending the time and slots to add Artemis to it then it's fair. Again its not like trying to fight a thunder cat thats packing 2 ac/20's in non existant torsos and big boxes protecting the sides to boot, or a mech with a gazillion lrms that is just point and click, or the streak too torso fest. SRM's spread have a short useful range, the heat isn't pretty and require aiming.
