I tend to play with experimental builds in between the "real" matches while I'm mastering my CTF trees, and I've been trying to figure out something to do with my Founder's Cat. I'm not a big fan of LRM's (not to say they aren't important, I just don't have fun playing them), and the C1 really doesn't have the hardpoints to be an SRM boat.

Now I've been boating PPC's quite a bit in the CTF's, so something about those big side-torso Energy slots made me go "Hmmm..."

It's funny; people see me sitting at long-ish range, look at the big boxy ears, and assume I'm an LRM boat, so they start shooting at the "Missile racks". Meanwhile I can run those PPC's for a long time on 22 DHS. The MLAS and SRM are there in case someone gets inside PPC range, so I can at least do damage while I try to disengage. Heck, I've had two Commandos park right in front of me to try and peck me to death (obviously thinking "LRM boat can't hurt me here, derp"), only to get cut to pieces by the backups.

I'm still getting used to it; it definitely doesn't have the durability of my CTF builds, but the extra 10 kph makes a huge difference. Definitely requires more of a "hit and move" style than I've been used to, but it's kind of fun. And the founder's bonus doesn't hurt.

I ran a similar build with an ERPPC exception, before we had ppc's increased to 2000 m/s. Was effective.

You know, I might try ER's at some point. This build just might have the sinks to handle them...
