I just started playing 2 days ago and its pretty cool so far. One thing I don't understand is ECM. I have a commando and catapult purchased in my much bay but I don't see any option to equip my mechs with a ECM. Is it something I have to unlock by leveling before I can see it available to purchase ?

Also since I pilot a catapult with LRMs will an enemy with ECM make it invisible on radar and immune to long range missile lock-on?

And last what is the best counter to ECM? Beagle active probe?

Currently, only four variants of some mechs can mount ECM, if I recall correctly it's the COM-2D (I think?), RVN-3L, CDA-3M, AS7-D-DC

Best counter to ECM is ECM. On a mech that can't mount it put TAG, but that'll only help you at >180m

ECM is only available on the Commando 2D, Raven 3L, Cicada 3M, and atlas D-DC. The best counter to ECM is ECM currently.

ECM is only available on the commando 2D, raven 3L, cicada 3M, and Atlas D-DC. I can only assume that you have a different commando.

Otherwise it's like any weapon or other piece of equipment. You buy and equip it in the mech bay.

Only certain variants of certain mechs can equip an ECM. They are the Commando 2D, the Raven 3L, the Cicada 3M, and the Atlas D-DC. The Raven is the only one that comes with an ECM, the other you need to buy it.
