I think a replay system for the game would be outstanding. Right now as I understand it the client has a map file that it gets and via the internet I get data on all the other mechs on the map. I get data on all the other mechs (location, speed, damage, weapons fire etc) and my client makes graphics out of it. This data load is obviously rather small as it is transferred over the internet while we are all playing.
A replay system based on this data where I can go back and view a match that I played in the past would be awesome. At first if all I could get would be views from cockpits of my team and the other team similar to when you die now would be great. Later on add a really fast invisible mech of sorts or a third person UAV that can watch the battle from a birds eye “observer view”
This type of system, along with the ability to have pre-arranged matches would be key to the success of the forthcoming community warfare system and also a tournament system (RHOD and others)

Excellent!
I would like to allow the replay be saved and shared among players.
So any player can download the replay data and have it replay on their screen.
Will also come in useful in the future for discute of cheating or investigation of player hacking.
