Are Pugs And Premades Still Dropping Against Each Other?

Perhaps Phase 3 will see a change in the match maker to make matches more even, skill vs skill, Pugs vs Pugs and Premades vs Premades.
I Pug exclusively and enjoy it alot, even with lopsided defeats 90% of the time. However good even battles would be much more satisfying, even in defeat.
Your thoughts?

Sync dropping is when two groups of 4 synchronize their launches to that they can play together as a team of 8. It is not really cheating, but it is unsportsman like as they often drop against pure PUG teams.

I don't know what you mean by the sync drop cheating. What is that?
Sync drops are when 8 players all chatting over comm (eg teamspeak) form 2x 4 man groups. Since the match maker limits premades to 4 man groups against pugs, the two 4 mans launch at exactly the same time in an attempt to end up on the same team, effectively creating a 8 man organized premade team speaking over voip etc. against 4-8 random players, leading to the everyone's favorite pugstomp. Someone else can correct me if I got the mechanics wrong. Either way the goal is to get 8 people coordinated against random players to have a substantial advantage rather than play against another organized 8 player group to "game" the system, boost stats, farm cbills/xp, boost egos, or what ever floats their boat.

Reason why teams do 4's: Because of a lack of tonnage-based matchmaking, you frequently come up against **** setups like 6 Atlas D-DC with ECM and 2 RVN with ECM. This is a cheese build and those of us that try to use 8's as practice for tourney drops and take a reasonable loadout (2/2/2/2, or 1/3/2/2 etc.) have little chance, though we do get wins like this, it is mostly boring fighting teams that use unrealistic 'instant I-win' team compositions.
So yeah, we got our 8 man drops back, but don't think it's all rainbow soup and unicorn milk over here, not by a long shot.

A bunch of wee-nancies over VoiP dropping at the same time in an effort to PuGstomp solo players.
PGI doesn't have the other aspects in the game that would make 8 vs 8 dropping more enjoyable or meaningful. Given that, if they wanted to grow their customer base, they'd just make groups play groups and let lone players get familiar with the game in their own queue. It is a given that voice communications are a major advantage in the game. As such, groups ranging from two to eight should all be tossed into the same queue. If they drop seven vs eight, six vs seven or seven vs seven, so be it. They all have VoiP, so it should even out. It is a hell of a lot better than two groups of four sync-dropping against eight random players that are forced to communicate with a keyboard, while at the same time play the game... or learn the game, in the case of new players.

i still only drop in pugs.
I think the number of players thinking they have just been curbstomped by a premade because it was 8:0 is much higher than the number of players who have actually been curbstomped.
:"Sync Drop Cheating" sounds about as ridiculous a feat as can be, because those sync drops could just as easilly end up against each other as on the same team.

Because it couldn't POSSBILY have been a lack of skill on their own team!
When I drop with poor teams that don't respond in chats, don't take advice, and split up (other than for scouting) Then I almost always get blown out. When I drop with people that respond in chat, that form plans and follow advice, we usually win, often in lopsided vicotries.
It's the individual players that think that their personal skill is enough to win them games that are often the worst at playing this.
This game is more a matter of position and timing than of personal twitch skill, and teamwork is infinitely more valuable than you build, your accuracy, etc.
Even if that team work is created through chat, or simply keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

Yes this is how it's done. As someone who does sync-drop (generally a 4 and a 3, 3 and 3 while waiting for the 8th person to log on) let me talk you through it in practice though;
1) even with perfect timing, it's generally been for us a 1 in 4 chance to get on the server
2) after that 1 in 4 roll, you then hit a 1 in 2 for the same side
3) the games that we (and i would hope, everyone else) enjoys the most are when we get placed opposite from each other
4) the overall goal (and again this is for us and i would hope anyone else) is to have fun. If we don't have 8, we can't play in the 8 queue. So we could either try and find someone in public, give them often private TS details or make the other 7 move to some new server (awkward when it's hard enough getting said 7 to even be slightly sober) or we try and sync and just shoot **** until the 8th man logs on.
It's not about farming or making pugs sad, it's about wasting time until we can fill an 8man.

You, sir, need to learn to play and stop blaming mystical unicorns and fairies for your inability to work with others.
As ever, the chance you'll drop against a 2x4 synch is rarer than you getting drafted onto an NFL team. There's a better chance you'll drop against a 3-team + 5 pugs, but it's likely you'll have similar on your team.
