Yeah, not signing up for a WOT account just to compare forums lol.

I know the PS:2 forums and another Mech Beta I am in both have forums roughly comparable to MWO forums so far as percentage of positive / negative posts, constructive criticism vs. nerd rage, etc.

You didnt miss much its just alot of back patting for kicking ***, and more hot women than any other 200+ clan embassy thread should hope to hold. Point of it was to show you 200+ pages of 0 gripes (in a single thread)... just good times. We could have that here too. A game, should be fun, and if it is, they will come. I know some find the current meta fun, but for those cursing the premade devil... accusations justified or not.. it is not fun. I wish they would just state the target audience... and their interest in attracting new players versus retaining the current ones.. so I could leave this argument forever..

I expect big things the 15th, until then it's all just jabber. The 16th they can tell me what's next and the 17th they can stealth patch for the 15th's mystery suprise error. Welcome to MWO, settle in.

A large percentage of us would like to see the end of all Warfare, and a larger percentage would really like some "quality time" with a sufficiently inebriated celebrity of their choice.

Pretty much all of us would like to win the lottery.

If the world ran on what everyone wanted, we'd be a lot less miserable :)

PGI,

Alot of player concern over where things are, where they are going, and where to place emphasis.

Problems include the: Heat debate, ecm/lrm debate, the 4 man vs pub debate, the netcode and still present advertisement for a net coder issue, modes and respawns, attracting new players versus retaining current players, etc. etc.

I wont advocate any points here, and ask everyone else to do the same. The purpose of this post is to generate support for the idea that more communication on these "topics" would be really appreciated.

PGI: Can you comment on any or all of the above topics? So much tester effort is expended arguing these points into the ground. An official statement from the developers may alleviate much turmoil and concern.

Other players: If you too would like some information on these issues, please say so.

how about we let them get back off their holiday and get the next patch out and see what happens.

Hey Sixes.

I'mma gonna vote "No" and I'll explain that I don't think I pay a lot of attention to the topics listed. I am likely playing quite a bit to figure out how to best negate and utalize the current field of the game today. Watching a game evolve, very quickly, over months kinda lends to this idea that the game isn't static or fixed and that issues that come up are being discussed, reviewed, and addressed.

People spent a lot of time complaining about the 4v4 and everything was on "can't wait until the 8v8s" and then they came and people were all... "ugh, f'n 8v8s."

:)

That and I don't really feel holding PGI beholden to the complaints of a very vocal minority (it takes a certain effort to get onto these forums and wade through them.)

@ agent: Presuming most posts are not just alt accnts.... each forum post represents a real person, a potential customer, and if they can bring their friends, a tool for recruitment. I hope PGI is less apt to completely disregard these forums, than yourself.

It's not that I disregard these forums, it's that I disregard the hysterical and semi-hysterical screaming about issues. I blow off the hyperbole, exaggeration, threats, and demands. There are legitimate issues to be addressed, and in fact many things we kinda agree on, but you have to admit putting a lot of what is written here side by side with a transcript of a toddlers tantrum you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference other than perhaps the words that are used.

Then you get to the arguments which often proceed beyond the point of usefulness and descend into what could be mistaken for a grade school disagreement:
"Uh-huh"
"Nuh-Uh"
"Uh -huh and your stupid"
"Nuh-Uh you're stupid"
"Uh-huh and i'm right because I said so and I'm going home Lalalalalala"

So what i'm getting at is the amount of ego, trolling for fun, counter trolling, and just flat nerd rage based histrionics makes a lot of the forum users look like children a lot of the time, and only a very few are not guilty of this (myself not included) at least some of the time. This behavior makes it difficult to glean the kernel of the actual issue, clean the crap away and have a constructive conversation.

That's what I trust PGI to do, they also have far more information than we do, so we kinda have to put a little faith in them. If you aren't willing to put at least little faith in them the only sane logical thing to do is to get a refund and walk away because if you don't think they will do the right thing then all the hollering isn't going to change that.

And you are right most of these voices are individuals, in fact very active individuals, in the game and can have an influence on the growth of this game via positive or negative word of mouth. However much of the rage on forums IS just sound and fury as most of us understand (on some level) that even on the internet throwing tantrums doesn't actually get you what you want we just do it to vent and feel better while knowing it isn't the most constructive thing. The people that Don't know or internalize that simple fact... well i can honestly say I feel we are better off without them.

In short, there are good points on the forum underneath the rage on the forum, pgi would do well to monitor them, we need to trust pgi to assess and change things based on the big picture we cannot see, and yelling at each other really doesn't change anything.

you think this is bad, you should see the star wars forums. At least here the devs actually comment on things that are actually going to happen.
