To keep charging from being broken for brawlers, a change in the charging mechanic should be implemented. What I'm suggesting is that a button needs to be held down for a set amount of time to initiate a charge, and during this time the mech won't be able to fire. A mech thats bracing for a collision should also be required to hold down a button and be unable to fire weapons, but the bracing mech shouldn't fall down from the collision unless the mech its coming into contact with is holding the charging button; this action should also require to be held for a certain amount of time, but should take less time to initiate but also take longer to deactivate. Two mechs that run into each other who aren't holding down the charge or brace button will have collisions and falldown as normal. What this does is allow a pilot who is aware of their surrondings have a fighting chance against a speacialized speedy brawler who can just spam weapons at close range knowing that they can run into the enemy after firing a alpha, and then get up after a few seconds and fire off another alpha. This way, a pilot who isn't charging who makes contact with a bracing mech will be left vulnarable, or you know, make piloting skill an actual thing in MWO. Collisions reimplemented without this will result in more players speacializing for brawling as the games maps favor brawling with the exception being caustic, and the whole boating SRMs get in close to win meta is spreading. As a fan of MWO I'd rather not the game turn into a simple get close and kill kind of game.
To repeat: Charging beats a bracing mech, a bracing mech beats a non charging mech, and collisions happen when both parties just run into each other.

Also, when a mech charges or braces, a telescopic colored filter should envelop the players vision, this can be a visual que to say, I'm charging/bracing and can't fire any weapons. But it should also inhibit the colored arrows above friendly and enemy mechs. As in the player who's bracing or charging will have to focus to keep themselves orientated in the fight or run into the wrong guy/expose themselves to the enemy (which would be a fun mechanic).
Have the charging/bracing filters be different colors please and allowing visual lock on an enemy mech is still okay.

Oh, mechs that are bracing shouldn't be able to keep bracing if they go faster than half their speed as that wouldn't make any sense and it would keep light mechs from abusing the brace feature as they spam it between weapon volleys of mechs their circling at full speed.
