I was going to do a Poll, but realised everyone who does not pilot will probably vote no change.
I feel the Wang should get at least one missle hardpoint (LT) to really be competitive. Remember this thing hero or not has only 2b and 2L pretty weak.

Hero Mech refers to the fact that the mech comes from historical canon of the Battletech universe... so its loadout came from lore and the novels

Except for when PGI stated they could make their own Heroes.

It is limited in its hard points, but I love it anyways...

Wait until arena. I suspect the AC/20 + lasers will be brutal.

I certainly wouldn't mind getting one piddly missile slot in the left torso.

Centurions have 6 hard points and the Wang has 4. The missing hard point was probably traded in for losing the Shoulder Actuator to balance it out (since it now allows an AC/20 in the arm). But losing the Shoulder Actuator is a penalty in itself due to the lack of sideways arm movement. Maybe we can trade out a Module slot for it? Or maybe we'll have enough good modules in the future to justify the lack of a missile hardpoints. No idea there. ;)

If PGI wants to invent their own hero mechs, thats fine. But if you take a Hero mech from the BT literature, it should have the stock hardpoints. The Yen Lo Wang sacrificed its missile capacity for increased ballistic capacity.

yes you are correct... but I'm ok with them making up or adding to the canon in this instance as there is an obvious shortage of true hero mechs... so it's nice to have some extra fluff to go along. Plus PGI is pretty good about coming up with fiction for the storyline, concept art releases, hero mechs etc.

Well, it does allow a somewhat bigger engine and an extra module, but yeah, it's pretty weak.

Adding a Missile hardpoint to the LT would bring it roughly in line with the others, though still probably the weakest variant.

Yes but the lore still applies if the HP is 1M in LT. It sacrificed missle for ballistic just not eliminated it (going to one Missle is a sacrifice). Just because the missle rack isnt there doesnt mean there isnt a hard point on the exo skeleton to support it, just sayin.

YLW is probably the best single ac20 platform there is.

- has torso twist equivalent to the other centurions max arm movement which helps immensly with the 2 laser hardpoints on the CT and makes it the best zombie
- can elevate the ac20 allowing for kills from up above or much lower ground than your target is on
- can go 87.x with a standard engine and still have the original weapon loadout
- can do 97.x with a xl engine, swap the mlas for mplas and add DHS, AMS, more ammo etc.

They should bring back the AH, but leave the YLW as it is.

I kind of see both sides for this. The YLW is lifted straight from the lore as having an AC and 2 medlas, and I like that the mech stays true to that. That being said,it is sub-par in comparison to the other cent variants, even with the AC/20.I don't think i've ever died to a YLW in 1v1.It's just far to easy to neuter. While it would depart from the canon load out, adding 1 missile slot to the left torso would help to bring it up to snuff a little bit.

I'd rather have a third energy slot. IIRC the YLW gets an upgrade in the next few years during the invasion, sporting a Gauss rifle and 3 medium pulse lasers. Missiles would be nice, but a third energy slot still fits in the lore.

Yen Lo definitely needs some love, lore be damned. That ac20 arm is not a benefit it's a huge liability.
