Currently, the 8 man group queue is fun, but many people can't get 8 people on consistently.

Most people are used to dropping 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, 7v7 as well and as such, the '8 man' group should allow 4-8 people to drop vs. groups of the same size.

Yes, there may be longer waits for games, but it would be much more fun than forcing 8 man groups.

Also, this requires a tonnage matching implementation as well.

Implement lance vs lance combat as well as 2lance vs. 2lance combat.

Lets take a look at what you are asking for. There would be a separate drop for every group type plus a tonnage matching. ( ex.4v4 total 400 tons, 4v4 total 100 tons, ect all the way through 7v7 total 700 tons) how many new lines would that be for both assault and conquest game mode? The quick math in my head says 616 new lines of groups waiting for a match. ( every combination and tonnage available in the game currently) Currently we have 4 . Conquest and assault for mixed and premades. We all would like what you are asking for. We really would. It just seems on paper to be impossible. If we had a way to prescreen who we played vs it might be easier. I see chess cites do this. You know their name and ratting, you can see their profile before accepting. You can see what all the players are asking for on a grid. 5 min. 5 min 1 sec. Ect. Unfortunately this does kind of ruin the Emerson in the game. I guess I don't have good ideas either. well, we will see how MM turns out when it´s done, but many many people including me said that way before P1... most "premade" matches we played or WOULD BE able to play, have been/ are between 5 and 6 people, to form more than one 8 group may be possible during US peak time, but many many people don´t play at those times

why not just pair groups vs. groups, trying to get as close a match as possible on both sides, (say 6 vs. 4+2 if no second 6 is found...6+2 vs a full 8 makes for a good challenge, doesn´t it ? :)) and fill up with "singles" until there is no groups anymore, then pair pug vs pug... there have been other MM´s in history which could do that..

or we just wait until it´s 12vs12, then maybe we COULD build 4 man and 6 man at least...
on the other hand: CW will probably promote full premades, at that point i probably won´t care about random (Q)Ques anymore...

and btw, if not already in the works...PGI pls fix people disabling maps they don´t like in the game files... makes it even harder to find a match i guess^^

The suggestion is awsome. Allow 5vs5 drope for example. Forget the tonnage stuff.

Last night we had 8 man after 30 mins searching and waiting, then we had to search 4 times unless it found an 8er group. We played it and one of our mates had to drop. So we were 7 again and couldnt do anything. We actually didnt want to split into different matches- but we had to. Simply allow 6vs6 or 7vs7 group drops.

Just have group drop/solo drop.

Group drop could consist of any combination of groups totalling 8 'mechs.
Solo drop would be, well, 8 solo players.

Easy.

I wasn't asking for exact tonnage matching... Just 'best case' matches.

So, lets say 6 groups of 5 people are waiting for a match.

500t
480t
300t
275t
250t
200t

Pair the top two, the middle two, and the bottom two...

Avoid matching the 500t to the 200t.
