Case in point: You should not always assume that your own equipment has not been compromised.
Proof is in the pudding. Directly after this incident I started receiving phone calls claiming I had applied for insurance, I've received mailers on a regular basis now and have received many of same emails as other users. Your point is valid, but I feel in this case it is not.
