Overall I enjoy this game. The general balance between the weight classes, the speed and strategy are all entertaining. I do have a problem however. There are variants of mechs that are down right terrible. I am talking about the non ecm ravens, cicadas, and commandos.
This would not be a problem except for the fact that you have to play them in order to level up the good variant of that mech. This is not only frustrating as a player but it is detrimental to your team. One ecm raven/commando can easily kill two non ecm light mechs. This means that when I go into a match with one of the sub par variants I go in as half a mech, yet am counted as one. For the Atlas, Stalker, Cataphract, catapult and hunchback there are three viable variant choices to level with, all I am asking for is for these seriously sub par variants be upgraded to provide some advantage, more missle bays, larger engines or some such thing that makes them uniquely viable. Perhaps I am asking for too much and I am sure some of you will just say "don't play that mech" or some such, but it is a serious issue for me.
I am sure this topic has been discussed on this forum before but I thought I'd add my two cents.
