If halfway through a battle you just want to quit and play a different Mech what exactly happens to your Mech in the game? Does it dissapear, stay still or what? and is it against the rules?

You get no rewards and all the stats whores cry because killing you does not count towards their k/d ratio. They still get rewarded for the damage done to you, however, and you still get a death to your stats (you would have died anyway).

Did I mention the stats whores cry bitter tears?

Yeah, it's your only weapon in the face of a 4pack of ECM Raven cheese whores.

Wait..I thought it was the K/D derps that would always alt-f4 ;) ...now I get to read they are the ones that would cry about others doing it...Oh the humanity...

Your mech will also stay in the fight doing what it was doing when you dc'd. Running, or standing still, until killed or it marches itself out of bounds. Your mech will not be available until the match ends. And, it is also considered an exploit. Perhaps your reasoning is innocent enough, but many others will dc when they know they are going to die to protect their k/d.

lol no

edit: to clarify, chain suiciding/quitting (trial) mechs was considered an exploit when that was still rewarded. has nothing to do with leaving a battle when you please. you're exploiting exactly nothing doing it.

If it's post you actually being destroyed and you're in spectator mode you can quit and play another mech and the rewards win or lose will update in your mechlab from that fight. Your mech will be locked out until the match is over.

As a a solo pugger LRM player I constantly find myself in a situation facing a team with ECM and our team has none so I just stand around the entire game unable to do anything. Had 20 odd battles tonight but only played a role in 3 of them, the rest I may as well have been making some tea or something.

So basically from now on I will just quit out once I see ECM's on their team and none on ours and play a different mech, my K/D ratio means nothing, I don't even know what it is. I also don't feel bad about letting the team down as I would be useless to them anyway if unable to fire.

In Assault mode, dc'ing won't really bother the team since one mech can solo capture the enemy base.
