True Skill uses stats to make it's judgement of who you can and can't play with.

No that is a pretty good number. The vast majority won't even care about the stats at all. Then the next biggest group will be the ones that enjoy seeing stats (yes some will be aholes), the far smallest group will be hurt by these stats. If you are alienated by stats, there a certain level of maturity that is lacking. It is just a game, why let some people on the internet get to you.

Yes... they were idiots because capping provides no C-Bill advantage... it is not more fun... and it misses the whole point of the game (to engage your opponents in battle). All it did was pad their stats with a notch in the "Win" column... which is largely meaningless and boring since unless you go trying to brag about it, nobody else can see those stats anyway.
You're mad that you used absolutely no tactical thinking other than "stomp forward and pew pew" and lost because someone exploited that?
If one of you had had even the slightest amount of intelligence needed to realize that the flanks are as important as the center, and went along the sides of the map like the other team had done, rather than following everyone else like yet another mindless lemming, you not only would have seen them coming and been able to engage them on your terms, you would have been able to force them to fight and maybe even have killed them before they even got to see the magic red square.
Two birds with one stone! You prevent the cap AND you get your pew pew to boot. I know it boggles the mind a bit, but there you go.
Did you think that maybe their fun was you coming to the forums to whine about how they're not having fun right? If it was, then they're feasting well on your tears. Please, do continue. Do continue crying, and do continue to keep rushing blindly down the middle. The sun may just shine on you one day.

It's not me that I'm worried about. The so called Casual people that will have to play/pay to keep the game alive. A simple Facebook Post can ruin their day. They don't have battle hardened mindsets due to years of gaming with D-Bags or Stat whores like you an I, but that D-Bag and/or Stat ***** can turn away 500 casuals in a day of play. First impressions are everything these days.

If the game is fun, casual won't care. Again please look at the market, heck just look at LoL which is full of casuals yet has some really good stat tracking that is public. That community is also pretty toxic, yet the casuals stay and play.
What you are saying has very littler if any basis in the current gaming market.

Again I hope I'm wrong but we will see.

And so will the ELO matchmaker that's supposed to be implemented in MWO. That happens regardless of whether stats are viewable or not.
Most modern matchmaking systems do, but the actual metrics that define your skill level for the matchmaker are almost never the same as your viewable gamer statistics. Sure, your gamer statistics are often taken into account, but they're not the be-all and end-all.
If someone plays dirty in order to buff their metric, they're only hurting themselves. Think about SC2, for example. Almost every match below platinum league sees nothing but cheese builds, and when one of those cheese players comes up against a platinum leaguer, they get flattened because they don't have the skill to put up much of a defence once their cheese build fails, which is will, almost every time. People who do this are limiting themselves because they're refusing to advance their skills.
