Sneaky changes you made last and don't play dumb were great. the gauss had its humor taken away after it had lost some of its punch. No problem their. Now the gauss has become fragile that if I throw a rock at it its destroyed along with any weapons near it, please just give the guass back just enough so it lasts longer. Remember in early beta when the A/C 20 could die with one shot from bumping into a wall. It was adjusted and is fine. please balance it in the same way. Also to take a whole weapons sections with it. other than sneaky Peats its getting better every day.

No.
To be more in depth: It was always intended to be fragile. It was never intended to be a brawler weapon. It was always intended to explode. Yes it is fragile, but unless you are constantly focused by badly aimed snipers or LRMs, your gauss should stay intact in a long range engagement. If you brawl with a sniper weapon and it explodes, then so be it. If you are concerned about its volitile nature, mount it in the arms with or without CASE so as to reduce its loss to the rest of the mech. If it is in an arm and it explodes with the arm, so be it. Didn't have too much use left out of that arm if the gun inside was dead anyways.

The Brawling Gauss kitty is pretty much dead. Best to leave it that way. Perhaps you might want to try the AC20 Kitty. As you yourself noted, that weapon is just about right for a Brawler...

As a constant, and long running Gauss user (those who played with me on TS through closed can attest to that) I think the Gauss is still just fine, it is supposed to be a glass cannon and go kaboom if hit too hard.
I have been in matches where I have taken quite a beating all over and lost a r/l torso without my gauss blowing, I have been in matches where I have lost a gauss and it has not taken out either the med laser or my xl engine in the same torso slot.
Remember, in tabletop it had a minimum range of either 3 or 4 hexes (cant remember off top of my head) and that translates to 90-120 meters, it is a long range direct fire support weapon, not the toe to toe brawler that an AC20 is (regardless of how often I wade willingly into toe to toe brawls)

I have to agree it is fine. using it from range with thermo imaging is more of what it is for.. Thanks I stand corrected.

it can brawl, but you are at higher risk (I am just an aggressive player but love the gauss)
